All of our right backs (Salgado, Chimbobda, Jacobsen) start the last year of their contracts. Salgado will be 73 yrs old next summer and it looks very unlikely that Chimbonda would be offered an extension. Giving Jacobsen one extra year would mean that we would have to find perhaps only one right back next summer.

...but he hasn't been good enough to get into the team since last Autumn, as far I can work out...

Chimbonda clearly hasn't spent all his signing on fee yet, therefore does feel the need to "look" for a move. Would be happy to get shut. But as on £25-30k a week that's unlikely to happen.

You only reckon Chimbonda is on 25-30k a week?

You are living in dream world if you think an average Prem plodder is on as pitiful a wage as that I'm afraid...

Taking out ERNI and all non-playing staff costs from the wage bill, the 84 senior playing staff and football management of Rovers are between them costing something like £700k a week in the equivalent newspaper headline terms that Yaya Toure gets paid £220k per week for instance.

So over to you all to guess who gets what...

Very nervous about Reo-Coker; I think whatever passion he had for the game was subsumed by passion for fast cars and high living a long time ago. The only reason we would be interested is we are defying gravity with Andrews and Grella in midfield so even a playboy version of Reo-Coker would be an improvement when he is not suspended.

Reo Coker looks to be an unlikely one because of the player's view of himself and Tuncay looks unlikely financially.

Both have consistent issues around performance in the recent past.

Go ahead and get your Reo Coker and Tuncay shirts made, boys.

Maybe you should take a leaf out of your own supposed book, mate. He was talking about Diouf being an improvement on Di Santo, not on Roberts, and suggesting we replace Roberts with somebody who IS better. He is also clearly aware we haven't signed Reo Coker, as we all are, he is just praising the idea, which is his right. Saying "When fit" and "Grella" in the same sentence is kinda like putting "Charity work" and "Hitler" in the same sentence. You've asked him to be concise, then made a much longer post in response. And finally, you've said we can't choose who we attract buyers for, then say it is better to sell Chimbonda, who we have had NO known interest in.

I don't know what it is about people sniping and deriding others views needlessly on this board, but when they do it inclines me to point out their own stupidity/hypocrisy.

Bingo!! Took the words right out of my mouth :D

Reo-Coker is one of those players you hate when he plays for someone else, but love when he plays for you. A bit like Robbie Savage. I think Reo-Coker had some issues in the West Ham dressing room, but if we can get him on board and get in aligned with our club, then we'd have a quality player on our hands. If we can get him cheaply, then we should.

I wouldnt have thought of Tuncay as that focal point striker. But with Tuncay playing as a partner for someone like Kalinic or Mame, and Reo-Coker, Nzonzi, and Dunn behind them potentially, that would be a very good side with a good chance of a top 10 finish.

Id rather Tuncay than a goal scorer with no one to create for him.

Tuncay would be a good signing for us! Reo-Coker is a good defensive midfielder player and doesn't get injured like Vince does! Sell Grella for 2 million and buy Reo-Coker for 1 million would be excellent business! Would we been able to afford Tuncay transfer fee and wage demands? If Roberts goes then are we need another striker aswell! Should take a gamble on one of the Norwagian strikers we have been linked with recently!!!

I understand what your saying but who is going to score these goals??? Sam won't play 2 up top, so buying a player for the hole with every penny of our budget is pointless as what do you do with Dunn. He may make a good partner but we will mostly play one up top so for me it would be wasted money.

The other issue is you then play the 3 behind as you suggest it most likely means 3 at the back and thats suicide in this league, as pompey showed with a much stronger squad under Redknapp.

We need a goalscorer before we look at a creator.

I'm not a massive fan of heskey, but he does a better job than roberts! roberts to the boing boing baggies, get heskey, then have kalinic and new diouf fighting it out until January when maybe we have a bit of take over dosh!?

Reo Coker is a real bad egg, he split the west ham dressing and was the leader of the "bling bling" gang under Pardew and was running riot.

He is a decent player and if he has grown up he would be a fantastic addition to your team he has a fantastic engine and is very strong in the tackle, but by being frozen out at Villa doesn't seem to me that he has changed his ways yet...

That was my take on him as well Mick.

Still, Rovers is kind of like a Betty Ford clinic for some footballers. "Come to Blackburn to play football - leave the bright lights, fast girls and beautiful cars behind you and concentrate on what you're good at with minimal disruption. Shut yourself away in the leafy Ribble Valley, enjoy the magnificent views and train in breath taking surroundings, all for £30K per week. Remember, it's a short career. If you do well you may even force your way into the England squad. At this point try not to feck it all up and move to Tottenham."

Just checked.

TUNCAY - not on...fee huge...got a couple of German clubs.

REO-COKER - agent is Tony Finnegan [ex Rover] who is telling him to go...however Reo-Coker may stay at Villa for other reasons that I can't go into here [or anywhere for that matter]...not financial...that may take time to pull off.
