Iceman Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 a mate of mine told me, that Chaddy was sold today for a fee of 100 hundred SA morands and he will no longer play with BRFCS. whats up with all these defensive midfielders, that we are being linked with? Is it that every season, we have to fill a certain position? 1st it was goalkeepers, then right backs, and now this. Where are the creative midfielders?

RoverRich Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Surely Big Sam must have left to talk to a player/club/agent about a signing. Can't see him leaving a game early to do business for any other reason. Hopefully Nicko or anyone else with their contacts can give us an explanation.

I think, as Nicko seems to, it means we are looking to move somebody out (hopefully Grella). I doubt we will be signing more than one defensive mid.
Iceman Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 i know what Nicko has said, he is my uncle he tells me everything.

As our midfield is absolute dogs*$!#, I welcome any news about midfielders being linked to the club. Defensive or no. As long as they can tackle, run, pass the ball to a teammate and stay on the f'ing field they're an upgrade over everyone we have bar N'Zonzi.
Derby Blue Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Unless his work permit hasnt been sorted, but hes played, and we didnt mention the Kalinic deal until everything was in place. In the same way that trialists can play pre season matches, I guess Diouf was allowed to play without having all the registration documents completed. Hopefully just a formality though.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I am only assuming that if he had work permit problems then he wouldn't have been able to play no matter what. Surely the usual UK/EU working law applies whether it's football or not? I imagine he's signed for the season, work permit has been granted and he's ready to play against Everton.
Mafioso Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Why would work permit be a problem if we're loaning him from an english club?
nicko Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Dear me, it's obviously been a dull day... Reo-Coker has been approached by Rovers. Sadly some people have only one source of info and can't be assed checking. The bottom line is the player is not sure he wants to leave Villa at this moment. However the move is there if he wants to go. There are some things going on at Villa that make him think it would be better for him to hold on for a little while longer. Rovers were in Europe, watching a striker. I hope he played. For many reasons. In the meantime, back to the bickering...and, nephew Iceman, get to bed.
Ricky Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 I guess if Milner goes to city and Liverpool go for petrov then he may well be there 1st choice cm.
Iceman Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 its been a long day uncle Alan. Nicko, is NRC holding out hope of playing more at Villa, if or when the Milner deal goes through? Im guessing this is the hold up.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Why would work permit be a problem if we're loaning him from an english club? I'm pretty sure if anyone who isn't an EU national, footballer or not, changes where they work then they have to get a new work permit. I could be wrong as i'm certainly no expert in this field so if anyone can share any light into this then feel free too!
nicko Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Nicko, is NRC holding out hope of playing more at Villa, if or when the Milner deal goes through? Im guessing this is the hold up. You could say he hopes his chances will improve soon ... but his agent wants him to make the break now.
roversfan99 Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Ireland could be part of that deal, which will hopefully be the end of his Villa career....

LDRover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 You could say he hopes his chances will improve soon ... but his agent wants him to make the break now. Or O'Neill is on thin ice?
Denis_B Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Coker has previously intimated he will run his contract down and cash in next Summer
patchrovers Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I wouldn't mind bringing in paul scharner on a free, he hasn't got a club yet has he?
DanLad Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I wouldn't mind bringing in paul scharner on a free, he hasn't got a club yet has he? Scharner is a decent player, although a complete nutcase. Where would he fit in, though?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Scharner is a decent player, although a complete nutcase. Where would he fit in, though? He'd play because the rest of the midfield are usually always injured.
DanLad Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 He'd play because the rest of the midfield are usually always injured. First answer was better!
aXept Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 If Rovers looked on a striker in Europe now, where? France?
rovers1995 Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Nicko, where was big sam today. He left the game 20 mins early to do some business?
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Nicko, where was big sam today. He left the game 20 mins early to do some business? Psychological warfare would be my guess it's not like the shops are shut after half five when it comes to multi-million pound transfers, is it? There's a few clubs waiting on us to make a formal bid and if it gets around that Sam left to "do some business" and he didn't ring you, then he must be on to one of the other players he's looked at.. Just a conspiracy theory, anyway.
Greedy_Crawford Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Can see MON getting the boot, hence why NRC is maybe keen to stay on for a while. Think he would do a good job for us as long as not suspended all the time. Maybe BFS was off early from the game today to talk to Marlon King's probation officer....
