Like the half volley's, kinda reminds me of another striker but I am not going to name him. Seems to like the ball in behind and does well of them in that vid. Huge step up to scoring the goals we need in the prem though.

Certainly knows where the corners are which is a good thing. Perhaps a trial first would be the wisest option if he truly is £2 million quid.

REO-COKER...what can I say?...there are some people who know something or work things out rather quickly...impressed...but it is still a goer...the agent wants him to move...but the player - to be fair to him - wants to assess the situation.

PENTECOTE...just a little change from the norm...wanted to see if anyone actually read the paper without being prompted...pleased with that response too...decent player...Rovers have been after him for a couple of months - I never mentioned that because it was complicated and still is...however the main scout was at the game...not sure if being stuck on the bench is good news or bad news for Rovers...or the deal...if the player wants to move it could happen...but Toulouse are tough to deal with.

ROBINSON...good to see Fabio and his staff are taking the job seriously... ...how can he justify being England boss on £6 million-a-year when he keeps making mistakes like this...get rid.

Why is it complicated????

Rovers wanted him to come for a 'test' a couple of months ago but both Toulouse and the player said 'no.' Totally understandable.

Pentecote scored goals in the warm-up games but he is unlikely to play with Gignac ahead of him.

Rovers would like to see him have a serious game or two to decide whether to bid - but that is difficult because of those circumstances.

So it's a hard one.

Because the striker probably wants to be paid and our offer of a trip down the local mine shafts plus a cornish pasty doesnt seem to sell too well over in France.

Cornish pasty?!!? It'll be a good old-fashioned NORTHERN Holland's meat 'n' potato pie, not that southern, pansy sh*te .... ;)

If it helps a mate of mine owns a Pastie company I'm sure he'd be happy to help us increase the offere to at least 3, maybe even 4 pasties. Could be a deal breaker.

Cheers Nicko.

This development does make the whole teymorium/faty deal a little bit more important as Grella bogging of to Gala would fund this deal. If we could shift Roberts as well, get faty and Pentecote, we could still end up with the same funds we had to sign a striker of repute.

Pentecote is a good player. Bit surprised Toulouse would let him go as they don't have a huge number of striking options, but he would be good for us. He's small, but should be suited to the style of football, like most ligue 1 footballers.

Never mind the level it is played at, there are some seriously impressive skills and goal scoring there and unlike Moa, it is not the same four goals endlessly looped.

One good sign..... I can't tell if he is left footed or right footed.

btw One of those goals would be in the top 3 for goal of the season. Denis Bergkamp would have been proud to call it his own.

Easier said than done blithely paying managers off with ludicrous amounts of money when the main sponsor has just withdrawn their funding. The FA are currently up the creek without a paddle. I wouldn't be suprised to see the dreadful Nathanial chappy moving in with some daft 'fix' for them.

ive heard ricardo faty has signed for lariassa in greece.

Is there any truth in that rumour nicko?

Don't understand the financial implications but I'd like to know how Greek clubs can a. compete with wages. and b. persuade agents that their players contracts will be honoured financially.

PENTECOTE...I can only presume Rovers will go back to watch his next game...otherwise it is a bit of a gamble...Toulouse will want a decent fee and you can't really do that 'blind' in the current circumstances.

JO...definitely available...City using him to put him in shop window and probably raise his price...better for Rovers's chances if he had been left out of the team.

FATY...no idea of his whereabouts...I don't think he pulled up too many trees in training.

It's not an easy business signing players at the moment.

Mirror's attempt at Premier League transfers so far.

With a week to go before kick-off it is amazingly slim.

The other thing that strikes me is that whereas last year at this time I was saying "yes there has been a lot of transfers but there is only 6 transfers which seriously strengthen their sides", I guess I am looking at only one this year- Hernandez to United. Cole to Liverpool is balanced by Benayoun to Chelsea.

The massive flux at City leaves me saying "who knows what the outcome will be?" and I guess Mancini is saying the same thing!

Silva to City and Petrov to Bolton would have been WOW! signings three years ago but now???

OK there are a few names in the incomings I don't know but I guess this window is favouring those clubs with good togetherness and team spirit and who have more players improving with a year's more experience rather than losing condition as time takes its toll.

Mancini will tell the Man City board who he wants in his 25 this week. I think a few cards were marked yesterday.

Ireland can go but is expensive and slightly loopy. Bellamy wants to go on loan and fancies Spurs. Jo is a cash cow for an agent. Caicedo is interesting and could be a bargain. Onuoha is over-priced and ordinary. Roque is a loan move at best because of his knee problems [How did you ever get that money for him? People have been arrested for less.]

People like Bridge, Lescott, Wright-Phillips will become bench-warmers and probably settle for it until January.

I hope they let them know fast because that will speed things up in the market.

But as all of those players are on big money THEY will decide where they want to go and not Man City.

This 25-man rule will hurt them. But frankly they deserve it for collecting so many players in the past two or three years.
