Pete1981 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 CryerRovers Sam more than happy with work out. Hoping for new faces but denied any interest in Nigel Reo Coker.
Backroom Tom Posted August 8, 2010 Backroom Posted August 8, 2010 Or a sign that they are not good enough perhaps. Part and parcel, they aren't good enough and Sam Wants better. Definitely odd that last week Temourian had a medical then today neither him faty nor Grella play any part.
alexanders Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 another goal by Jelavic today. Have we dropped our interest in the player Nicko?
Doaksie Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 another goal by Jelavic today. Have we dropped our interest in the player Nicko? I would have thought so with the prices Rapid are rejecting from Rangers, circa 4 million. I heard he got injured celebrating his goal today too, tripping after he removed his shirt. Not even Vince has managed that one yet!
roversfan99 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Only because he dosent stay on the pitch long enough and has never scored.
nicko Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Nicko, has Benjani actually failed a medical with us or have we just heard that he has failed medicals at other clubs? Benjani has failed a medical at one club at least...not yourselves...but the word is out that his fitness is a problem. Sam more than happy with work out. Hoping for new faces but denied any interest in Nigel Reo Coker. Reo-Coker knows of the Rovers move. Reo-Coker's agent knows of the Rovers move. 1864roverite got word too. Perhaps they are all hearing voices. another goal by Jelavic today. Have we dropped our interest in the player Nicko? Rangers have been making a genuine attempt to sign him. I don't know what word I would apply to the Rovers effort on that front. Definitely odd that last week Temourian had a medical then today neither him faty nor Grella play any part. Teymourian's absence could be down to work permit issues. Grella and Roberts being absent would suggest something else.
roversfan99 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Thanks Nicko for clearing things up. Cryer seems to have a habit of denying as many players linked to the club as possible. Are we after Caicedo, Jo or Bance?
nicko Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Cryer seems to have a habit of denying as many players linked to the club as possible. Are we after Caicedo, Jo or Bance? I have only heard of Jo as a possible. Caicedo arguably should be. Bance was being pushed by an agent. It does seem to be a club tradition to deny things. I seem to recall 'Keith Andrews wasn't coming,' 'Brad wouldn't be allowed to leave,' 'why would we want Paul Robinson?' and 'Robbie Fowler - it's just a trial.' Gets rather wearing though.
Pete1981 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Thanks Nicko for clearing things up. Cryer seems to have a habit of denying as many players linked to the club as possible. I would agree with this every player Nicko has put to us he has denied it.
greggyk Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Just seen Sam's presser in full (benefits of working at SSN), Sam asked (I believe by Cryer- but could be wrong) if the links with Reo-Coker are true....Big Sam, "No...." But means F all right?
John Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Reo-Coker would be a good signing, especially for the £1 million fee which has been mentioned - would think other clubs would be in for him if he is going relatively cheaply. As we know, it would not take much to improve our central midfield - would not be surprised if we try again for Gary O'Neil. Interested hearing Sam's interview from last week - said we have plenty of irons in the fire however problem is that none of them are hot. Also said he would like to make progress this week.

All by Paul Ince...
nicko Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 All by Paul Ince... At the time of Paul Ince, but not all from him...some from club officials...all appearing in the local paper. Anyway. Just checked on Reo-Coker. Rovers were quoted a new and quite ridiculous fee on Friday...the understanding beforehand was that £1 million would do it...I won't say what the 'real' valuation is now but it's too stupid to be taken seriously. What a messed-up market.

roversfan99 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Great, another deal off At least Sam is trying to rectify the weakness we have in centre midfield. Andrews isnt good enough, Grella is made of glass, Pedersen is average, Emerton is average and Linganzi is too raw. We need a bit of quality in there, but id be suprised if we get anybody of note
nicko Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Nicko, anything new on James Vaughan I asked about that today and Vaughan has not heard any more. Significantly, he wants to hear...a player who would actually like to join you. Is it not about time somebody made up their mind about who to bid for rather than the dancing round the handbag routine. Great, another deal off I would be blaming Villa for that because of the latest development.

Is it not about time somebody made up their mind about who to bid for rather than the dancing round the handbag routine. He knows we're desperate and not averse to paying good money to crocks.
nicko Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 This club is a bit of a joke at the moment. There are many in a similar state. The disappointment is that Rovers were safe months before many and have lost that advantage because of dithering and the takeover 'issue.'
roversfan99 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I would be blaming Villa for that because of the latest development. It is getting frustrating seeing deal after deal fall through though, whatever the reason. I hope the club dosent relax on deals due to getting Diouf in on loan, we need to sort out any deals as soon as possible
greggyk Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Sam also said in his presser that he is "excited" by a couple of targets that have emerged in the last couple of days but we are way off any permanent signings.....
1864roverite Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I think it more the case that Rovers can provide an opportunity for him to play regular Premiership football. Believe it or not BRFC is an ideal club for a player to reinvent themselves and to progress a career, although it is us fans who know of the Ewood Park curse
roversfan99 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Its hard to say whether that means we shouldnt get excited just yet or hes eyeing up more loans.
John Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Just hope we don't panic as reckon some decent deals could emerge later on in the month (including loan deals).
