chaddyrovers Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 interest that the LT is saying that Rovers have denied reports that Allardyce was scouting Toulouse striker Xavier Pentecote on Saturday. Wonder Where he went?

roversam Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Andranik at Bolton was a runner charging everywhere. He broke into their team and scored a few in sam's final year. Not sure he has done anything in the subsequent three years.
Brfcrule1 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 just to let everyone know according to Wikipedia I know not the most reliable source Branco is still with us on Saturday when we were playing Hearts our reserve team went at the same time went up to Burscough for another friendly. According to Wiki Branco scored the only 2 goals that won the game not sure of any others who might have gone match report is not up yet maybe Nicko can confirm he was up there & if any other 1st teamers were involved.
thenodrog Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 .......some teams could find some real bargains.....but expect to pay crazy wages! Strange interpretation of the word 'bargains' Mack.
mhead Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I follow Majiball....Beattie would be an exciting signing. To me he is an insurance policy and all we expect is him to be motivated, professional and give us 3 years at 15 to 20 appearances per season. But please for only 1mn fee and 20k per week maximum. We soon will have a young and not so young(but motivated) home and away team.
Gav Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Beattie would be an exciting signing. Surely you're having a laugh, exciting? Beattie?
philipl Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 That Diouf looks an amazing player on that Andronik clip...
Gav Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Surely you're having a laugh, exciting? Beattie? He'll not be a bad signing, local lad wants to do well and all that, but not exciting. Bring Bellamy back, now that would be exciting, but more chance of Burnley wining the champions league this season I'd say.
thenodrog Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Gav.... you are having a mboard conversation with yourself! Are you err feeling OK?
heysham rover Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Whoever mentioned Branco still being with us, he is a long long way from being the answer to our striking prayers. I saw him in the reserve game against Morecambe a few weeks ago and he was dire. He ran around a lot much like our pal Di Santo, he was even less threatening in front of goal though if thats possible
Majiball Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Sorry guys, but I still think we need a sarcasm emoticon.
LeChuck Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Gav.... you are having a mboard conversation with yourself! Are you err feeling OK? I hadn't realised until you pointed that out. Sorry guys, but I still think we need a sarcasm emoticon. Yeah, that would be useful.

47er Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Made his debut for Besiktas last weekend. Oh! Missed that--thanks.
unclejack28 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I was just reading the Fenerbahce’s forum, no one there seems to rate or want Guiza, I feel our 5 million would be better spend on Jelevic - 3m and moa 2 mill. F - Mame,Kalinic,Jelavic,Moa F - Mame,Kalinic, Guiza Id prefer the first one.

Ricky Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 Guiza went to Fenerbache for 17.4m euros so Im sure their fans would expect a lot from him. At £5m or less it has to be something we should be looking at. His record is very very good.
tony gale's mic Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 He's 29 though so if he needs time to adjust he'll already be 30 and then will start to decline with no resale value. Would be as big a gamble as the others IMO.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 He's 29 though so if he needs time to adjust he'll already be 30 and then will start to decline with no resale value. Would be as big a gamble as the others IMO. He's actually quite good though. That alone makes him less of a gamble then most of the other strikers we've been linked to. Id take him as our sole signing for the summer.
nicko Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Nicko, any update on Gai Assulin? Plays for Man City at Southport tomorrow night. Seems likely to sign, done well so far. I am sure there will be some scouts there. interest that the LT is saying that Rovers have denied reports that Allardyce was scouting Toulouse striker Xavier Pentecote on Saturday. Wonder Where he went? The manager didn't watch Pentecote on Saturday night. The chief European scout did. Perhaps this is all too much for some people to keep up with...

At £5m or less it has to be something we should be looking at. His record is very very good. Career riddled with in discipline and personal issues. Apparently been missing training at fener recently, but even still 5 million seems very low for him. If he is possible you'd have to think about it, 2 years and then sell him at 31 will he still has a fee. Even at that age if he can score 10-15 each season we'd get our money back.
