magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 A sell on fee is a bonus. We'll get that in players like Jones/Olsson/Samba but that shouldnt be high on the list of priorities when searching for somebody. If he comes and does well then he'll get bidders next year, that'll take care of itself. For now, lets concentrate on what he brings to the team.

Sparky Marky Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Guiza could be a real coup for rovers....Aragones has now left fenerbache and therefore it makes sense for guiza to leave...Top Class.
67splitscreen Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Seems some vast differences in the reported bid from Rangers anything from 2-4m. Rapid have been reported as saying they want 4m so why the rejection last week.
MarkBRFC71 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Not sure he has done anything in the subsequent three years. Sounds like Pedersen then. Do we really need another anonymous player? Surely you're having a laugh, exciting? Beattie? Beattie signing for Rovers would be exciting for one person - James Beattie.
AJW Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Can clubs not stagger payments any more now? i.e 2.5m for guiza this season and 2.5m next season?
ada2020 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Can clubs not stagger payments any more now? i.e 2.5m for guiza this season and 2.5m next season? Problem with that one is going on this seasons "budget" that is two years "budget" to buy one player.
RevidgeBlue Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Can clubs not stagger payments any more now? i.e 2.5m for guiza this season and 2.5m next season? I understood it that in general now fees are staggered over the life of a contract. e.g. an 8m fee would be payable over four years at 2m p.a. Of course, that's not the end of it these days, if someone is on 60k p.w . that would still be 5m p.a. for four years leaving the club for one player alone.
Stonesrick Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Sounds like Pedersen then. Do we really need another anonymous player? Beattie signing for Rovers would be exciting for one person - James Beattie. Exciting for 2 people - James Beattie & David Dunn
imy9 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Trivia question: can anyone name a player who has topped the la liga charts on goals scored and is aged under 30, then compare it with Guiza, I cannot believe people are questioning whether he would be good for us! Edit; Messi and Eto'o... Are the two, anyone got a spare £200 million?
Stuart Ripley Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 ssn has under our new signings h. hernandez from U Derpotiva (nom) ??!!
Balwer Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 ssn has under our new signings p. hernandez from derpotiva (nom) ??!! The guy in the reserves who has a few names I believe (someone will know).
unleaded Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Rovers latest target Xavier Pentecost has left Big Sam excited and no wonder..the guy is a natural finisher and would be ideal for Rovers IMHO..........The Former Under 21 French international striker is confortable with both feet and would be a BIG coupe for Rovers..............Spent last season on loan to Bastia..........The fans really liked the player and made him a hero........... Video Of Pentecost.............
alexanders Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Do you know IF we are trying to seal up a deal for him?
unleaded Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Toulouse His parent club want to sell but they also have high hopes for him but it depends on there current star Gignac (who is no where better then this guy)If he stays They will sell...............Pentcoat has come back this pre season and carried on with his goal scoring............5 goals in preseson including a winner V Marseille..............wonderful chipped goal...the longer Rovers leave it the more he gets out of range........Go on MR Williams Real him in............

Hi Mack Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Strange interpretation of the word 'bargains' Mack. By bargain I mean City may let a player like Ireland go for a few million.....he was one of citys best players last season yet might not even get in their squad! Agreed wages are ridiculous but by bargain I meant in the initial fee!
farhanology Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 any old targets we might be after again? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Pogrebnyak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senijad_Ibri%C4%8Di%C4%87 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireneusz_Jele%C5%84
beerwins Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Surely if we are looking at this Pentecost chap we are looking to adapt our playstyle, he looks like he likes the ball to feet and he doesnt look the biggest. He doesnt seem to have a problem finding the net, but we might have a problem to find him if the ball is knocked high the majority of the time. Also the goal at 2.15 on Unleadead's clip.....OMG.....now that was a finish.
pwaw_whipp Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 quite interesting to hear big sam is "excited" about the irons in the fire!! maybe it is this French lad!?
Majiball Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Beattie signing for Rovers would be exciting for one person - James Beattie. I reckon one other would be pretty happy and I don't mean Dunn. Hi Mack Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Big sam gets excited by a sausage roll and a long throw!
BPF Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Big sam gets excited by a sausage roll and a long throw! Don't forget a 32+ year old legend with no contract.
BPF Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Wants new additions - This week. Asked if he was interested in Reo-Coker, Allardyce told the Lancashire Telegraph: "No. Not at all. We are trying to bring someone in before Saturday though.

We are trying to bring someone in before Saturday though. Interesting. But yeah...there is now a lot of tension regarding this mystery player. It better be someone good.
