You're just doing your job Nicko and you are clearly very good at it, I have no problem with you. I just can't believe that people argue and fight over every player that you link like Sam himself had just personally presented him to the public.

The point is that Rovers have been chasing players since February or March. So far Teymourian might be coming if his paperwork is good and the big boy Diouf has been gifted by Sir Alex.

If you honestly think that there have been no other players chased or sounded out in the interim that is entirely up to.

If that is your view I don't know why feel to comment about fans having an opinion on potential business.

And, while you're at it, check out the Daily Mirror on May 22 of this year and see who was linked that day as the 'domesday scenario' signing.

There is clearly nothing in all of this speculation...

Totally whacked out at the news banjani is at the club. I will be distraught at having to watch my team play football with two of the most despised ever players donning the colours of my team in Andrews and benjani. I dread seeing this as Rovefrs will be in effect playing 9 men versus the opposition.

I am totally turned off football by the thought.

I understand the lack of funds but even I could score goals before benjani and that is with a totally knackered pair of knees he is that bad.

There are players in the lower leagues that can score goals, there are freebies out there and there is potential in european clubs. Rovers MUST be able to afford a £3m player on a 4 yr deal by spreading the payments.

Jerome Aliadiere is a freebie, I would take him over half of the players mentioned. Kitson is another far better than Beattie or benjani or even roberts.

I'd much rather speculation than press releases from the club.

That's why we're all here (on this thread) isn't it? Speculating over who we may or may not sign? I can't see why everyone keeps getting their knickers in a knot over it all. Imagine having nothing to get our hopes up for.

If people don't like what they read here, they should stick to the super safe, super sterile and super sporadic lack of news from the club site. Or if they're feeling a little dangerous, read the LET for their constant non-updates on a 'mystery striker', who for all intents and purposes might not exist.

I personally have no problem with Benjani training with us - because I know he can't pass a medical. If we signed him despite this for anything other than pence per week then someone's head should roll.

Obviously it's always good to have young players coming into the squad but I feel at the moment we need to focus on players who are already developed and can straight away make an impact and improve our first XI.

RE Big Sam, fans do not want him. But fans REALLY do not want Sven, they'd much prefer BFS to Sven.

Think most are hoping for Jol/Moyes, a lot resigned to maybe getting to US coach, again not a favourite.

Obviously my post was not well appreciated, but have to accept different fans who have been in different situations do not go on same wavelength as all of you, not our fault if we're used to something different, you'd all have the same frustration in my situation. Annoying to hear another fan moan about stuff which obviously some of you would be happy with in terms of the massive amount of money we've spent. But yeah, having had a day to think about it I think things will be fine, just this season difficult and a bit of transfer dealing to sort out with some of the squad players.

But yeah, on Sam Allardyce, would be a v.unpopular appointment, though I agree with Nicko, there is not that much difference between MON and BFS's styles of play....just a difference in what each team cost.

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick here.

I'm not saying that your stories are not geniune. I believe in everything that you say. I don't even mind talking about and debating the information that you provide. My point was that many people on here take your information to mean that we have just announced the signing of that player. They then look to kill themselves and each other. My post was purely intended to ask certain people to calm down on certain subjects until they actually happen (confirmed by the club).

Again, having an opinion on POTENTIAL business is fine. I just cannot understand posting near suicidal thoughts over and over and over even when it has come to nothing. I think the talk of Heskey, fifty or sixty pages back provides a good example of that.

If we sign Benjani it will be on a pay as you play, even better if its a pay as you score...there's a way to motive him and his dodgy knees! Can see there being a "marriage of convenience" until he gets his passport - if he scores a few goals someone will offer him another pay day.

What a surprise we are trying to spend no money this window - we are up for sale! Why burden perspective buyers with players they won't want on long term contracts. Also given the way this transfer window has operated I think its sensible for the club to keep money in the pocket until late on, with the as yet 25 man squad "fallout" still to be understood.

Still enjoying all the speculation though - we should lighten up and enjoy it for what it is - transfer gossip and people posting "Yeti sightings". Great stuff. Keep it up nicko and the rest.

Funny that, I voiced exactly the same opinion at the time of last years semi-final and I recall how all the cocky gloating villans that imposed themselves on this site became even more unbearable and condescending at the thought
