alexanders Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Vukcevic would be a good player for ROvers, playing behing Kalinic. Totally agree! Was impressed when he played against Norway in a friendly. Lots of pace and technique. Fairly young at age 24. Bring him in or at least listen to what the demands!

Veevs Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Agree there.. very good call and quiet a suprise... someone text Sam his name lol.. I doubt his wage demands would be huge and would knock in a few from midfield and at worst would be ideal cover for injury prone Dunny.
Oklahoma Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 According to newspaper "Record", spanish club Espanõl has made a loan offer with a possible buy out clause. But Sporting want to sell him now.
alexanders Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 According to newspaper "Record", spanish club has made a loan offer with a possible buy out clause. But Sporting want to sell him now. I understood that he was realeased from his contract therefore free transfer? What do you think his price is?
Oklahoma Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 So far, he has been put on the transfer list and has till the end of the month to find a club for him. If he doesn't, he will have to come to Lisbon and start preseason while he waits for a club to buy him. According to transfermarkt.co.uk, he is worth close to £6 million but, given his current status, he would be worth £3 million or less(my guess). Sporting are doing a major restructuring this season, selling, releasing and loaning several players that were on their team last season.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 If we had the money to go for Guti or Vukcevic i would pick Vukcevic every time. 24 years old, real talented flair player and the potential of re-sale (something that is vital under our current owners).

Me too. Even if I don't know I guess Guti's wage demands would be sky high.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Looking at his profile on Wikipedia, it looks like he's caused trouble everywhere he's been. Perfect for Blackburn then!
Guest Wen Y Hu Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Martin Petrov has agreed terms with Bolton Wanderers, according to the BWFC official site, thus ending speculation that he might be joining the Rovers. www.bwfc.co.uk, 22 June 2010 Petrov Agrees Terms With The Wanderers
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 As much as I like Petrov, we don't really need him when we've got Olsson and Pedersen. The only targets we really need to focus on are strikers and someone who has a lot of creativity........oh and another right back to add to our collection
Billy Castell Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I may be wrong, but I liked the look of Mphela and Tshakabala of South Africa. I assume we could afford at least one of them.
MeanGreenMachine Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Sam regrets the Grella move didn't occur but still rates Vince: Im glad someone does, the useless permo crock ****
Amo Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Im glad someone does, the useless permo crock **** Scariest thing about Grella is that he couldn't agree terms with Gala - who have Luca$ Neill on their books.
Mr. E Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 We've missed out huge on Petrov. And I get the feeling that there are some fans on here who would deem it somewhat acceptable if we were to start the new season with any of Diouf, Emerton or MGP in the starting line-up. Which in my view would be nothing short of a cataclysmic disaster. The latter two were useful players once, but they are a million miles off Premiership quality today.

Add Andrews to the front of that list.

bellamy11 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 And I get the feeling that there are some fans on here who would deem it somewhat acceptable if we were to start the new season with any of Diouf, Emerton or MGP in the starting line-up. Which in my view would be nothing short of a cataclysmic disaster. Having awarded him a new bumper contract, I don't think any fans feel like MGP is going to be anywhere other than the first team next season. Petrov of a few years ago would have been a massive coup - rapid and direct. Now he is injury prone and heavily criticised for a lack of application. He certainly doesn't seem one of these "give his all for his club" types that are increasingly rare these days. Could we have missed out? Possibly. But having chosen to keep Pedersen I doubt Allardyce has even entertained the idea of getting anything other than a striker and a central midfielder, especially given our restricted budget.
MeanGreenMachine Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 No offence to Bolton, but it sort of tells you his current calibre when he winds up there.
unclejack28 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 fat sam on al jeerza network tonight for the Argentina game.
Amo Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 No offence to Bolton, but it sort of tells you his current calibre when he winds up there. But Bolton "play football" according to Nicko, who can't see past his man-crush.
Lathund Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Overreact much? In pretty much every post he makes.
whiteinpeace Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 No offence to Bolton, but it sort of tells you his current calibre when he winds up there. Hmmm whats the difference between us (Bolton) and you guys? Not sure I see it (and lets be nice no funny answers here). Respect Blackburn a well run club and like ourselves have done well to stay in the premiership over the past decade or so. But can't see much difference in how attractive our clubs are to potential signings myself.

Respect Blackburn a well run club and like ourselves have done well to stay in the premiership over the past decade or so. But can't see much difference in how attractive our clubs are to potential signings myself. We have the secret ingredient though - Rovers bias as it's a Rovers forum. You are right though whilst we do have a better recent history and finished higher there is very little between the clubs these days, us Rovers fans remember better times recently though and sometimes forget how things have changed.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Anyone else think we should just bite the bullet on the "striker for £2m" front and just offer Celtic £1.5m for Samaras? I've always thought he was decent up front on his own and hasn't had a proper chance since leaving the Netherlands?
