Amo Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Also, if we don't give players like Nzonzi improved deals after the season he's had then who's to say he won't be off at the drop of a hat. He still had three years on his contract. He'll be off at the drop of a hat anyway you look at it.

Blackburn Ravers Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 After 12 minutes of the game. A nice shot by Moa from 20 metres, but denied by the keeper. 13: Minsa. A nice cross from Gamst finding Moa, but he isnt able to put the header on goal. forgot bout that match, gonna stick it on now,
davulsukur Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 N'zonzi probably was signed on an incentive basis. If he plays well then we will give him an improved wage. Not bad thinking as it turned out.
jim mk2 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 The club is in mess regarding shelving out high contracts to these average players.......... As stated previously, Rovers are paying these players the going rate for a middle-ranking PL club. If Rovers had not paid these wages they would have moved elsewhere. As with so much in life, you get what you pay for.

Mr. E Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 If Stoke can spend 8 million on a striker that's not even that great, while we can't buy anyone, then now is the time to start losing our heads. Either John Williams explains to us exactly where the money is disappearing, and publishes the wages for each player, or it becomes clear as day that we are being robbed blind. It is beyond any realm of possibility that Stoke, a lifelong Championship team, are so much richer than us. C'mon now the great defedners of the trustees, come back here to explain how all this money is going to the wages and we should just shut up with the questions. Go on, it'd be nice to hear that again. And just keep in mind - Jones to Stoke City for 8 million.
alexanders Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 MOa inches from a scoring, but a france defender gets a kick at the ball. Gamst has been good so far. Him and Moa seem to be finding each other.

Rovers do not have that kind of pull any more. Sometimes these things just go in cycles. The good news for Stoke is that the younger members of Coates's family are committed to this too and genuine fans. Unfortunately Jack Walker's 'legacy' is in the hands of Trustees who do not have that level of interest.
roversfan99 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Before joining Skeid's first team squad in 2003 he had to have corrective surgery to his left foot due to the fact he was born with only 4 toes, something which was never a hindrance before top flight football From Wiki about Moa

Easy to splash out £8m on a striker when its your own money.
Grez Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Here's a suggestion... Why don't we all pay an extra £100 for our season tickets to get an extra £2 million for transfers... Can't have our cake and eat it.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Probably get taxed and then we're left with enough for Beattie
trs Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Sometimes these things just go in cycles. Wish this thread would, or does it? OMG I just dont know anymore

Unless you know the ins and outs of Stoke's financial backing then i wouldn't just assume we've got more money than them if I were you.
JAL Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 And worse, either Allardyce can't see or doesn't think we need a creative midfielder which should be top of the list. Instead we're flogging a dead horse trying to find this ultra-elusive, bargain-basement striker who can consistently score 1 out of the 2 chances we'll probably create for him with our current midfield. Or is BFS admitting signing Niko was a failure? Did we not scout him properly to see that he's pretty average when deployed as a lone striker? That's what it's beginning to look like ..... Rovers never scouted Kalinic Mark, they just hijacked another clubs deal because Pompey at the time were struggling to produce enough cash to make the deal for Kalinic plus big Sam was desperate for a striker. Rovers agreed to pay more than Pompey, so his agent got his brother to drive him upto Blackburn whilst poor old Peter Storrie thought Kalinic was a having a good nights sleep on the south coast waiting for the following day to sign for Pompey. The rest as they say is history.
Grez Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Probably get taxed and then we're left with enough for Beattie I know you're joking, but you only get taxes on EBIT, so transfers would be net spend. Failing that, we could setup a separate payment scheme as part of the season ticket, class it as a charity and claim gift aid. We could call it the BRFCS fund.
alexanders Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 MOa have had a lively first half - been close three times. Gamst and Moa seem to have developed a good partnership. Most crosses from Gamst have found Moa.
JAL Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 The market has definitely moved on. Those bargains cannot be had anymore (or at least not as regularly). Why are you actively involved in it Bucky ?

If Rovers had not paid these wages they would have moved elsewhere. As with so much in life, you get what you pay for. You make it sound like we're accommodating a wealth of talent. Most of our high earners are decidedly average and I have every faith they could be replaced for less than they're costing us at the moment. Just think where we'd be without the mighty Roberts, Pedersen, Diouf and Chimbonda bleeding us dry!

Joar Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 MOa have had a lively first half - been close three times. And missed two absolute sitters... Sometimes I wish I could watch norwegian football with the same rosy glasses as lots of norwegians do, but I find it an utterly awful league standard wise. All it takes to get by some of the defenders in the league at the moment, is pointing in one direction and going in the opposite direction. Or the famous fake left, go left. It's that bad.
