micky_b Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Me too please dont be true To be honest if Roberts fingers crossed does go and we get him on the right contract it won't be a bad deal but a further striker is still required, this can't solely be the only signing

BuckyRover Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Indeed. If the 16k per week is to be believed. Roberts is on between 30-40k. That's a massive saving
roversfan99 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Have heard Benjani has been offered a 1 year contract with an option for a second year. I really hope it's a wind-up .... Where from pal?
rundereim Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 nicko what price is it talking abaut on this player?
davulsukur Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Kenwyne Jones £8m but paid over 4 years, why can't we deal like that!! Because we would end up like Portsmouth, plus what would have to spend over the next 3/4 summers!? Naff all
The Rover of Finland Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Shoot me but I don´t rate K.Jones too high. £8M is much too much for him. Our Niko will do better this season. Fuller is Stoke´s best striker.
Miker Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 It's going to be Guiza. Roberts is the stumbling block, need to get rid of his wages and get his transfer money to have enough for Guiza.
Blackburn Ravers Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 It's going to be Guiza. Roberts is the stumbling block, need to get rid of his wages and get his transfer money to have enough for Guiza. i hope so, were is the info from bud?
chaddyrovers Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 It's going to be Guiza. Roberts is the stumbling block, need to get rid of his wages and get his transfer money to have enough for Guiza. Let's hope so
RoverRich Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I understand there is a financial decision to be taken today on whether to go for this guy...I don't know what that decision is yet...there is a big chance this player will go elsewhere if the money is not forthcoming. This comment from Nicko makes it sounds like it is going to be someone who is towards the top end of our budget and that makes me think it is going to be Guiza, Jelavic or maybe a new name such as Dembele. I really hope it is Guiza as the prices that are talked about for him are not that high for a player of his ability and he will go somewhere else if we don't go for him, as will Jelavic. I suppose it partly depends on persuading JW that Roberts can be sold for a decent fee. If Guiza comes in I will happily accept Benjani on a free as our 4th choice striker.
brfc_jonesy Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I know Benjani is getting slated and for me I wouldn't sign him either and I know he's a crock, but a 1 year deal wouldn't be such a bad thing. When he first went to City he was banging them in. Isn't the player I would want, but if we sign him and he wears the famous blue 'n' white halves then he would get my full support! Go on the Rovers!!!
Doaksie Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 The player I am working on at the moment is NOT Beattie. But you know and I know that Beattie will be an option until he goes somewhere else. That may sound like basic common sense, but it is also a fact because of a long-term interest in the player. Seeing is believing... Beattie at Ibrox today Dot those Is and cross those Ts please James. Let's hope the agent didn't bring his calculator with him - "uh, how much per week?"
nicko Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Eh? I thought there were "stirrings" over a player? There are quite a few stirrings just now... 11 o'clocker could be lively.
MeanGreenMachine Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 If Güiza is the man, and we get him, thats him on my shirt for next season. A little ray of sunshine in a blackness of a transfer window.
JAL Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Seeing is believing... Beattie at Ibrox today Dot those Is and cross those Ts please James. Let's hope the agent didn't bring his calculator with him - "uh, how much per week?" Best place for young James thank god he aint coming here.
roversfan99 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 If its a couple of million more than alternatives we surely must go for Guiza, not just for his goal record but for the boost it would give everyone.
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Have both Celtic and Rangers now got rich Irish uncles willing to step in to fund short term deals for over-paid Premier League forwards? I can guarantee the second one haven't Seeing Beattie outside Ibrox has brought a tear to my eye
Gav Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Best place for young James thank god he aint coming here. It’s a good move for him, possible champions league football and a couple of medals before he retires, or mid table premier league club and slightly better wages, I know where I’d be going.
roversmum Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 There are quite a few stirrings just now... 11 o'clocker could be lively. I've always found Milk of Magnesia to be beneficial in such circumstances
Amo Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 It’s a good move for him, possible champions league football and a couple of medals before he retires, or mid table premier league club and slightly better wages, I know where I’d be going. They're made of chocolate up there.

AggyBlue Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 There are quite a few stirrings just now... 11 o'clocker could be lively. Is it worth waiting up for?
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Bob Bradley just resigned - Villas new manager? I hope so - Sam buggering off would screw us Must be nailed on, Lerner was in America earlier this week when MON left
blue/white Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Must be nailed on, Lerner was in America earlier this week when MON left Wow...... i can hardly believe Lerner would do this. Stunned. I don't know who I feel worse for : Villans or the American Football setup.
