You have to admire Boyd's scoring record albeit it is in the SPL, but everyone has to start somewhere. I really hope we sign him. You know exactly what you will get with him and at 26, he has real sell on potential.

1999–2006 Kilmarnock 153 (63)

2006–2010 Rangers 143 (101)

National team‡

2002–2005 Scotland U21 8 (1)

2003–2006 Scotland B 3 (0)

2006– Scotland 16 (7)

"On 30 December 2009 Boyd scored five goals in a 7–1 victory over Dundee United; in doing so, he passed Henrik Larsson as the all-time leader in goals in the Scottish Premier League"

I think Boyd would be a good signing for us. He's a lot to prove in the Premier League and I don't think he's in it just for the money, he will want to do well and get to the top of his game. For me he'd be welcome to do that at Ewood.

A Scotsman playing for Rovers, bloody hell, Majiball will be having multiple orgasms

There won't be any signings at Rovers right now from what I hear...got to say it again, the takeover thing is jamming up the whole job.

Whether that is good news or bad news is very much down to what happens in the next few weeks.

The penny has dropped.

After the excuse of "keeping the powder dry for January" has worn thin, the board have designed an ellaborate hoax that the club is in takover talks throughout the transfer period in order to remain as tight as a duck's a$$, once more.

Actually, that is quite a good point, the board need to be very careful here!!!!

Nicko,

Any idea who the trialists are going to be – I think you said you should know some names by the back end of this week...?

Cheers!

There is one here...I am trying to put a name to him. There will be at least one more joining the party in Austria.

These Kris Boyd rumours are growing but strange. He has been available for months and Rovers are supposedly finally moving for him.

Yes, it's cheap. But is it cheerful?

Rovers Supporter Jong Tae-Se the North Korean Rooney a scam?

Ill just put out a name in here who I would love us to try and get.

Andre Ayew

Has had an amazing world cup and along with Anthony Annan been the best players on Ghana.

Plays as a winger and can be used as a striker.

Is on loan with Ligue 2 outfit AC Arles-Avignon on loan from Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille. Whether or not he is a part of Olympique Marseilles plans or not I don't know.

Didn't set the French league alight the season before when he played for my team, Lorient, on loan. I doubt he'll be part of Marseille's plans as they will be looking higher than that because they have just won Ligue 1 and are being linked with bigger names but whether Ayew could offer us anything, I'm not sure.

Yes.

Make it so, Sam.

personally I think we should make a move for aurellio and koren as they are available on a free....two players that can only improve the team and koren has looked good for wba and also in the world cup.

Try as I might I don't see any more than 2 signings being necessary. I don't want to see Keith again other than sitting on the bench and I'd rather Jase was sat next to him. Other than that I think the younger players will come through stronger and contribute more this season.

If getting Boyd can meet that Guti can go ahead then i dont care. I cant believe that Boyd will have much of an impact but if he's cheap and a step up from Roberts (there are farmyard animals who have a more subtle first touch), then Id have no reservations in him coming.

I am SO bored hearing about Guti. The budget can barely handle Salgado's wages, if Guti comes don't be surprised if we're forced to sell one of our top players later on to balance the books. At 33/34 years old, he's really not worth it. Follow the Hughes model at the club and sign players with potential and resale value.

I'd like Aurellio, provided we can keep him fit.

Boyd, well it would be good to see a Scot in the team and he knows where the back of the net is.

Guti won't wait forever he has other offers, so I won't be surprised if that one fizzles out.

To be fair, we probably have more young players around the first team squad than we ever did in the Hughes era. If we had an old squad I'd be more worried.

I'm quite happy for us to go for these 'star' names because it certainly raises the profile of the club.

As long as we're not shelling out transfer fees and can adjust other areas of the wage budget to stay within our means, I'm all for it.

We have earlier read that he has been wearing his Rovers shirt in training and he is a huge fan of the club. According to this article he loves both United and Chelsea.

“I love Manchester United and Chelsea – it is a dream of mine,” said Tae-Se.

I doubt it, he's highly regarded and what some would call a wonderkid :)

If we do sign Boyd then that will mean Sam having to change his tactics.

Boyd doesnt look like the type of player who could play as a lone striker.

He struggled to get a game at Rangers when they played with a lone striker, for which I'm not the biggest fan of signing Boyd. It'll all end in tears with Boyd being deployed to right wing.

You won't be saying that if we're forced to SELL one of them to cover our debts.

Based on Salgado's wages, there should be a bare minimum. We patently don't have the finances to accommodate these Hollywood signings.

I have little faith in the management of the wage bill. Too many average players on big money.

I agree on the GUTI bit - not sure we can really afford him....although you have to remember we have already shifted Reid, Di Santo, McCarthy & are looking to get shut of Zurab....That must be a big hole on the budget surely?!

As for the management of the wage bill - id say we are getting much better with that would you not? We have FAR more young potential now, who will be on much smaller wages - we have also moved some useless big earners such as Reid & McCarthy lately.

We just need to continue to move the pointless deadwood such as Zurab, one of Brown/ Bunn & perhaps a right back.

And given pay rises to Jones, Olsson, and according to everyone else than you, Pedersen ;)
