He struggled to get a game at Rangers when they played with a lone striker, for which I'm not the biggest fan of signing Boyd. It'll all end in tears with Boyd being deployed to right wing.

As long as he can fill in at right back we'll be ok.

As for the management of the wage bill - id say we are getting much better with that would you not? We have FAR more young potential now, who will be on much smaller wages - we have also moved some useless big earners such as Reid & McCarthy lately.

I do not believe that the likes of Jones and Olsson will not have been given serious pay rises. Jones signed for 5 years, signing bonus as well, surely he's on at least 12-15K now. Olsson is now a sweden international played 20+ games last year, surely at least 17.5K to 25K. Salgado's hopefully are covered by Benni leaving, so that leaves us the normal nothing.

Jack's wish after he had gone was that the club should be able to 'wash it's face'. Looks to me like the powers that be are planning on it giving it's balls a good scrub as well with the way things are panning out.

If Jones has signed his contract for £12k-£15k/week we've got a bargain. Olsson was on more like £7k/week before he signed his new deal, an increment deal over the 5 years.

And given pay rises to Jones, Olsson, and according to everyone else than you, Pedersen ;)

Iv never said MGP hasnt got a rise....iv just made it VERY clear I do not believe he is on anything close to 50k basic based on what iv heard.

Jones & Olsson will have payrises correct - and only rightly if we want to keep them....But id imagine more in the area of 10-15k. Olsson or Jones wont have seen MASSIVE rises yet - both have still only played a small amount of 1st team games, it will be based on x number of games at one rate, then after x appearances it goes up etc....Same as what Gally was on here. Getting shut of a keeper or Zurab would cover both of them. Also dont forget several reserve/ youth team players have been let go - i.e. Marshall. We have also told Judge he can go too.

Reid was on BIG money....there is a big saving. Then their is Di Santos wages.

Salgado like you say will have taken up Benni's spot.

To sign someone like Guti then id expect another fringe player to move...whether it be Jacobsen, Andrews or someone else of that sort of level.

That makes no sense. You think Guti will command the same wage as Jacobsen or Andrews? The wage budget is clearly stretched if Sam is trying to heave Zurab out of the door.

No not like that sorry.

I was thinking Boyd on free & Guti on free could be covered by the Reid wage space + one of the above....+ some/ or mayble all of the £2.5m cash we have to spend.

Koren on trial?! I hope so, West Brom shouldnt have let him go.

Signing Kris Boyd would be a disaster. The guy isn't good enough for the Premiership. He was consistently over looked by Rangers when they played 1 up front and he started very few Old Firm games and I think he failed to score in any of them (I could be wrong about that). The only positive thing about him is that he would be a free transfer, which is probably attractive to the club. Has their been any official word on a transfer budget? Wasn't Sam due to get the money from the sale of McCarthy as well as the money generated by finishing 10th?

The main thing in his favour is that he is a free transfer. He hasn't been given a shot at the premiership. I don't think he would be a success but I think he is worth taking a punt on rather than Dindane, etc.

If you read through the forums or on the Telegraphs website your question would be answered. Sam has 2.5 million to spend while the takeover talks continue. He would have had more money to spend if he didnt sign Salgado but because Sam wanted Salgado they rebudgeted a 11th place finish instead of 13th

Well if he didnt play many games he did well to end up top scorer, I saw him score in a game v Celtic!!

Yes i've haerd that too, but we sold Warnock remember for 7 million.

not being funny but we're being fleeced by the owners...once again.

If this takeover dosen't go through, mccarthys money disappears and we sign a freebie or noone this summer and have a bad season and relegated i wonder if the owners would be forced out... or some revolt against them.

Why are we being fleeced by the owners ? The accounts for the club are open to the public - at no point has anyone said - wow look at that £x million being paid to the owners.

I wish somebody would explain this idea that the owners make anything out of sales of players. The truth is we have a salary structure of a club with far bigger income and gates than Rovers. We are one of the smallest clubs in the Premier League - because of pricing we probably have the lowest match day income of any club in the EPL (a brave call by the club which I whole heartedly support).

In reality the owners do very little - and leave the club to run itself. It is only because of the money that Jack - and to an extent the trust - put in that we are able to survive with such a hugh wage bill to income ratio.

Boyd would be a good signing. He could play up front on his own because with Dunn playing behind the striker. Big Sam might change his style abit this season. He is slowly building his own team and getting rid of players he didn't want or had to sell because of the financial side. He can only work within the budget he's given. We would like us to have a bigger transfer money but we don't yet, hopefully that will change soon if the takeover happens.
