Definitely not.

Cheers

Met some guy who reckoned he was an agent for Manchester United today.Said Bolton were offered Diouf on Monday and that Owen Coyle was considering it.And United have got £100 million to spend according to him.

I thought he was a tool at the time and that just confirmed it.

So how many goals has Boyd scored against the second strongest team in Sotland, Celtic, can anyone find this true figure so that we can judge him by- thank you.

Pretty certain it's only one goal v Celtic for Boyd (which has been alluded to, he rarely started against), but then again we score very few goals against any of the top teams in our own league.

I'd actually be very happy with a goal-scorer who regularly puts the rubbish teams to the sword with sets of 2/3 goals. Much more relevant for ourselves in my opinion.

He was consistently over looked by Rangers when they played 1 up front and he started very few Old Firm games and I think he failed to score in any of them (I could be wrong about that). The only positive thing about him is that he would be a free transfer, which is probably attractive to the club. Has their been any official word on a transfer budget? Wasn't Sam due to get the money from the sale of McCarthy as well as the money generated by finishing 10th?

I just can't believe some on here we moan when we are linked to the likes of Beattie/Benjani then we get linked to a goalscorer and people find fault with him. The statistics don't lie his goalscoring record is phenomenal yes it's a weaker league but look at the likes of Zurab,Tugay etc. they made the step up and did well for us, in their hay day before they left/got frozen out. For every Hesselink their is always a few who come over and make it and we need to be realistic. Sam has 3 names 1 we don't know the other 2 Boyd/Pokemon and I know who I'd prefer. If you put Boyd's statistics up against Pokemon's there is only one who clearly comes out on top. I mean 3 goals in 31 games for Pokemon in the EPL hardly sets the prem on fire. Roy you say shouldn't we have the money from Benni sale/finishing higher up the league. How many more times does it have to be cleared up the higher finish in the league went on Salgado's wages the benni money is there to spend hence being said the 2.5M in the press. Your theory about him being overlooked and not good enough for the premiership is shot down in flames if he did not play regularly how did he score 101 goals in 143 games that tells me he was a regular. You say the only positive is he is a free transfer wrong. He is the only free transfer with a fantastic goalscoring record also you have to remember we have to fill the striker void & the creative midfielder role how are we supposed to do that with 2.5M so if we get Boyd in on a free means we can spend more on a midfielder that would improve us. But I do agree with a previous poster on here about the person who writes up contracts & termswe need to be more ruthless in how these are done in the case of Grella/Zurab we need to pay less in wages in relation to our turnover and I think it is vital we get these players who are sucking the wage bill dry of the books who will never make it into the team e.g. Zurab/Chimbo/Jacobsen.

Rant over!.

Some people will never be happy no matter who we are linked with and people seem to forget this is Blackburn not one of the top 4 but even if we bought Rooney some people will still find faults. Who would you rather have Boyd or Benjani or some unknown from abroad who could turn out like Grabbi. As we only have 2.5 million to spend not 25 million i think we should do everything we can to get Boyd in....

Are we in talks with Boyd or is this just another rumour? It seems as if anyone so much as farts in the direction of ewood we are linked with them.

Boyd will be seen as a low risk option. No fee and if it doesn't work should be easy enough to move on.

£2.5m buys naff all at EPL standards. But given our high wage bill its all we have left from ALL the money that comes in. Given where we finished last season I personally can't complain. And if anyone is under the illusions that a new owner is going to come in and splash the cash, think again.

This is the Rovers model; low transfer fees, high wages when compared to turnover, sell to clear lowish debt levels = Premier League football. What's there to complain about? I can think of at least 72 clubs who would happily trade places with us.

Anyway, can't wait for Big Sam to unearth the "new Keith Andrews"....

I prefer if Big Friendly Sam 'earthed' the 'old Keith Andrews'.

Good players available on free transfers, would they improve Rovers?

Fabio Aurelio from Liverpool ---yes

Juliano Beletti from Chelsea ---yes

Robert Koren from WBA ---yes

Guillermo Franco from West Ham ---33 years old but yes he's a good finisher.

Mido from Middlesbrough ---attitude problems - no thanks but great on his day

Ilan from West Ham ---goal poacher ...maybe

Paul Sharner from Wigan ---don't know where he would fit in

Kris Boyd - Its he or Ilan....goal poacher..

Don't know what's this site, but according to it, Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is understood to have monitored Town defender Tommy Smith's progress during the World Cup with New Zealand.

What's with the NZ centre backs and us? Nelsen, Reid and now Smith.

I reckon it's because the press think football is a game of rummy and because we've got one NZ defender, we automatically want a set.

According to the LT we have held talks with his reps this week.

just flicking through the pfa list of free agents and there are a few intresting 1s,the 1 that caught my eye was alliadiere from boro,any1 else think he could b worth a punt??

He's poor - has been for boro in a poorer league, so cant see him setting the prem alight!

Still no confirmation on Joe Ledleys next location?!

Yes i've haerd that too, but we sold Warnock remember for 7 million.

not being funny but we're being fleeced by the owners...once again.

If this takeover dosen't go through, mccarthys money disappears and we sign a freebie or noone this summer and have a bad season and relegated i wonder if the owners would be forced out... or some revolt against them.

You are right you are not being funny you are being stupid. Why don't you get your cheque book out?

I'd wager you are younger than 35.

btw Can you define 'fleeced' in your own words.

Yep. Salgado came in and Warnock was sold to plug a gap in the wage budget.

Something is not right.

So who paid Ince and his goons off? Who paid for EHD, N'Zonzi and Givet etc? It certainly wasn't me.... was it you Le Chuck?

btw I tried to check once and all I found re: Warnock was 'undisclosed amount'.

" We actually budgeted to finish 13th but Sam put up a compelling case for Michel Salgado.

This meant we had to re-forecast to 11th. "

So what was Warnock sold for then?

Evewr thought he might have wanted to go once he'd hit the England set up?

I have little faith in the management of the wage bill. Too many average players on big money.

You are too harsh in your judgement. Apart from Burnley which Prem club would that statement not apply to? You know what they say about paying peanuts......

Heard a rumour of a favorite ex rover of mine Johnny Stead ... apparently he's resigning for Huddersfield Town, anyone now if this is true?

Who cares? One things for sure that daft debate about his abilities as a Prem striker has been answered good and proper. As I and many others said at the time Stead never was good enough for the top level.

The same now applies to Keith Andrews. When he leaves it will be to a lower division.

Ince and EHD were the season before.

As for who paid for the rest...I guess the £18 million Roque money would have helped.

The Warnock fee is around £7-£8 million depending on where you look. Weren't we told there was a £5 million wages gap to plug, hence why Sam only got a couple of million for a replacement? I'm pretty sure that's what we were told last summer.

Have you been following their player sales and expected sales this summer?

Who was their last major outgoing? I can only remember Palacios and that was a year ago.

They have a owner who invests money into the team. We don't.
