Clitherover Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 You are right you are not being funny you are being stupid. Why don't you get your cheque book out? I'd wager you are younger than 35. So what are you saying, everyone under the age of 35 is stupid? You must be really old theno...

philipl Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Wigan have consistently been making net profits on payer sales for a few seasons now. Fairly routine- "oo look it is better over there" reaction when in fact it is worse.
jodrell Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 So what are you saying, everyone under the age of 35 is stupid? You must be really old theno... I think what he is trying to say is that you don't remember the good old days in the second and third divisions. When Rovers where struggling to pay the bills. But then again it could be that most people under 35 think that money grows on trees.
LeChuck Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Wigan have consistently been making net profits on payer sales for a few seasons now. Fairly routine- "oo look it is better over there" reaction when in fact it is worse. That's because they seem to be doing a better job at reinvesting their money than we do. N'Zogbia and Rodallega will command large fees when they leave, McCarthy/Moses look like they will be at that level in a few years too. Having said that, I've never seen Boselli play and players coming directly from South America often carry a high risk of failure.
47er Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Boyd has a good scoring record - so worth a risk...especially on a free....he is also on a low wage so shouldnt command too much to come here. Id be happy if we signed him aslong as we see more quality added to midfield I suppose the plan would be, if we signed Boyd on a free, to fill the "other" position ie playmaker. Beyond possibility that the 2.5M could go towards Guti's wages or is that completely dead now?
Kelbo Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Who was their last major outgoing? I can only remember Palacios and that was a year ago. They have a owner who invests money into the team. We don't. Valencia?
Mr. E Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I heard we are being linked with a tall center forward called Goofy for 3.5 million, but personally I would prefer an explosive creative midfielder like Donald Duck.
JAL Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 If Boyd is of average pace then even on a free transfer he would be a complete waste of money for Rovers. One goal against Celtic in his sweaty sock career doesnt enthuse anyone. Rovers need fast attackers because of the other players already here and the way we play not a big fat scottish lump up front chasing shadows waiting to score a tap-in goal.
nicko Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I hear Kris Boyd is signing for a club next week. NOT Rovers. More a club at his level.
chaddyrovers Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I would like to see Gyan of Ghana at rovers next season but would depend on a takeover. Bance would be a good signing. Also think we should sign Annan aswell if the takeover happens. Would like to get rid of Chimbonda, Diouf and Grella. I hear Kris Boyd is signing for a club next week. NOT Rovers. More a club at his level. Middlesborough then
budha Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Has either of the prospective new owners promised a lot of money for transfers upon takeover or from where these assumptions are coming from where we have tens of millions to spend depending on the takeover?
Majiball Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I hear Kris Boyd is signing for a club next week. NOT Rovers. More a club at his level. Is he off to Turkey then?
niggit Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I hear Kris Boyd is signing for a club next week. NOT Rovers. More a club at his level. Middlesborough then I thought Bolton
thenodrog Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Who was their last major outgoing? I can only remember Palacios and that was a year ago. They have a owner who invests money into the team. We don't. You've obviously forgotten the 6m on Kalinic. Topman you are starting to sound like a spoilt brat. Rem the old saying.... "I want never gets" ?
thenodrog Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 So what are you saying, everyone under the age of 35 is stupid? You must be really old theno... Not at all. I'd imagine I could scrape about 10% of them who aren't.
Commondore Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Wigan have consistently been making net profits on payer sales for a few seasons now. Fairly routine- "oo look it is better over there" reaction when in fact it is worse. They also have a bloody excellent track records with their signings. Valencia, Palacios, N'Zogbia, Rodallega, Figueroa... I hear Kris Boyd is signing for a club next week. NOT Rovers. More a club at his level. Newcastle? Although that surely would have leaked by now...
nicko Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Joe Ledley is speaking to a club tonight...bit of a surprise one... No great loss from a Rovers point of view.
chaddyrovers Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Joe Ledley is speaking to a club tonight...bit of a surprise one... No great loss from a Rovers point of view. Bolton where Boyd going? are Rovers close to signing anybody? who are these trailists that rovers are looking at?
Amo Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 You've obviously forgotten the 6m on Kalinic. Topman you are starting to sound like a spoilt brat. Rem the old saying.... "I want never gets" ? Sorry, dad.

Doaksie Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Joe Ledley is speaking to a club tonight...bit of a surprise one... From your surprise, I presume not Stoke City any more then as expected. It's not Everton is it by any chance?
