Ding ding ding!! (As in, that's what he does!)

Your "point" about "started games as sub" is rather  as well.

Tell me, in the games you have seen him play, just what is his game?

I pointed out clearly in a poor league he was substitute at times, he would be moving up three of four grades of football, we dont need a sub, we need someone to come in as a first team player. Janko a much more proloific goalscorer was thought to be not good enough to step up, look at his record

20052010 Red Bull Salzburg 108 (75)

2010 Twente 0 (0)

National team‡

2006 Austria 16 (7)

* Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only and correct as of 23 June 2010 (UTC).

[He started the 200809 season in great fashion, scoring 5 goals in the first 2 games. On 16 November 2008, Janko became the all-time club leader for goals scored in one season for Salzburg. His 25 goals in less than half a season, surpassed previous record-holder Oliver Bierhoff, who scored 23 during the 1990-91 season. Janko continued his scoring streak with a four goal performance against league rival Altach. On 6 December 2008, he surpassed Toni Polster as the all-time half-season scoring champion by registering 30 goals in 20 matches.

I just don't get the sub thing. He was an automatic starter for their important games, so long as he was fit. No two ways about it. So as far as that goes, you're making something out of nothing.

Jelavic is 24 years old, big, strong and capable of playing on his own up front. Good in the air. He's not great at taking players on but he's good at holding the ball up and getting into good goal scoring positions. He's a bit of a late bloomer. Just recently been called up to the NT and didn't look at all out of place (as Croatia experimented with a 4-2-3-1, with Jelavic up top). Although he's capable of goals and assists such as the ones against Celtic, most of his damage is from inside the 16.

A source in Croatia told me a few weeks ago, he is very good in the air and very strong with the ball at his feet but lacks a little bit of pace, he he has been following his progress since he left Hajduk as young lad.

He is around 8kg heavier than Kalinic, my thoughts there, he may be stronger than Kalinic was when we signed him

Capable at what level? Boyd is capable at one level, Premiership? who knows, Earnshaw is prolific in Championship at Prem level, not so good, likewise Nugent and many others!!

Crown Paint has been our best signing in ages. 30% discount on trade paint has done most of my house. Looks lovely.

Thanks very much Mr Nixon.

I get up make a nice cup of coffee, sit down to catch up on the comings and goings in the football world as always. I spot your article on Jellyvic (SP) and think not a bad player wouldn't say no. But you had to do it didn't you!!!

If Big Sam fails he may turn to free agent Benjani.

Couldn't you just have left that part out?

Talk about high to low.

It is even worse than that - nothing will happen until the takeover saga is done and dusted. No transfers in - nor out.
