As others have said go get him Sam, good player with some promise in his future but above all English. This is one of those opportunities that have to be taken. He wants first team football, he wants to play in the premier league for that reason even if the likes of United came in for him I think those promises would snare him.

You might have but I bet messrs Williams and Finn (as well as most other Prem secretarys) are busy checking their own players contracts this morning. :rolleyes: Goslings agents played a blinder. Any signing on fee will not be cheap.

JW is on the ball he knows exactly who is and isn't running down, hopefully. I cannot believe in today's age mistakes like this are possible. Just set an outlook reminder FFS, but only doing it verbally and not in writing is shocking. Real madrid did similar I believe with a kid not too long ago as well, madness.

He would be a good replacement for Grella who hopefully goes walkabout soon.

PS he can also play right back ( made his debut in that role), just in case!!!

PPS If we are in the race for Nugent I hope we are racing away from him as quick as possible.

It's nothing to do with what is in Gosling's contract.

The rule regarding compensation for young players only counts when the club have made a formal contract offer to that player. That's where Everton have messed up, they didn't put it in writing.

There is no need to check players contracts all, just remember to offer them one formally when a new one is due!

We'll be crackers if we don't make an approach for Gosling.

Surely a player like him being available, would mean we could lift this self imposed embargo?

He'd most certainly come with good re-sell potential and it would be good to have another home-grown in the squad.

Gosling's out with a knee injury until Nov/Dec, so don't know how medical would go. And being sidelined for 6 months without a pre-season, he would struggle to make an impact atleast in the first season.

According to that article, Gosling is joining Newcastle.

Gosling just needs to call Aaron Spear to find out whether its worth going there or not. I'll be very surprised if he does join Newcastle.

Sam should sign just to spite his old employers.

No player in their right mind should go to Newcastle.

That's not a good way to run the club. We'd end up with loads of rubbish we don't want.

Everton say they did not cock up, yet they say, "Players under 20 cannot sign five-year deals" has Jones not just signed a five year deal.

Serious knee injuries at a young age, problems ahead maybe?????? .

Are the statistics on Wiki correct? His scoring record for Bolton is very good! 1 in 4 in averages out at.

I would like him at Ewood. Has an excellent work ethic in addition to a lovely left foot!

Not really.

Although he's injured he will go on to be a quality Premiership player for years to come and is English. Great re-sale value too no doubt. It's one the club should be going for despite the takeover seeing as though we've not got to pay a transfer fee. If we want to porgress these are the sort of opportunities we can't afford to miss out on. I'd also imagine that he'd be interested too as not only would he not have to move from the NW, we can also offer him first team football.
