Do we need a left winger? We have Olsson there and....ughh... Pedersen, if needs be.

Spot on, we don't really need him and we are already paying too much in wages as it is. I think signing Taylor would mean less games for Olsson which would harm his already rapid development into a top player for the club.

Jelavic costs 4 million Euros?

Thats a bit too high for an unproven 26 year old playing in one of Europe's most inferior leagues. Who was the last player that came out of the Austrian league and "made" it?

Jelavic is 24 years old.

Rapid Vienna play Anderlecht on Saturday. Blackburn and Benfica scouts will be present (to see Jelavic).

TAYLOR...no approach to Bolton...phony story trying to spark interest.

Probably for the best really. For the wages Taylor would be wanting he plays in a position that we are certainly more than catered for, as Topman alluded to. At a push we could probably sign a left-back to play there instead of GG, but Taylor, although he can play there, is much the same as Olsson. Decent on the left-wing, poor at left-back.

Nicko, how do some of these second-rate journalists link a certain player with a certain team? Pin and league table job?? Or maybe it has more to do with touting agent propaganda in exchange for better stories?

I think you will find that skysports.com is quite a regular place for players to be linked just to get tongues wagging...you would think it was pretty transparent by now...but, then again, we are sitting here and talking about it.

If you read through the lines Taylor thinks he will be off after Petrov's signing.

185cm, or 6ft 1. He's no Peter Crouch, but not short by any means. He's also not lightning quick. While I wouldn't call him a target player, he is at least closer to being a target player than he is a Leo Messi type of forward.

Leo Messi-type???

You mean someone apt to run into a cul-de-sac of German kneecaps????

GOSLING...five Premier clubs now in...Rovers not among them...probably understandable at this time.

Nicko, is Man Utd one of the clubs that are looking at Gosling. I might be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that Fergie fancied him as a player.

Not really.

Although he's injured he will go on to be a quality Premiership player for years to come and is English. Great re-sale value too no doubt. It's one the club should be going for despite the takeover seeing as though we've not got to pay a transfer fee. If we want to porgress these are the sort of opportunities we can't afford to miss out on. I'd also imagine that he'd be interested too as not only would he not have to move from the NW, we can also offer him first team football.

Do you really think so.

When I watched him play for Everton, personally thought he was utter shyte and never ever a premier league player.

When Gosling was in the Everton team for me that team was severly handicapped as the lad offered nothing. He has age on his side but surely hes just another local lad similar to Danny Simpson ex MUFC, playing for his local club, but the standard was just too high for the lad to make it.

No, definitely not.

The lad says he wants to play - and in his preferred central midfield position - so it would be a pointless one for both sides.

I think Taylor's been a bit of a pain in the arse at Bolton. He seems to sulk everytime he is left out of the team.

Probably has, but still he scores goals for us. I think I heard sky sports news reporting a while ago that he was third top scorer from midfield across the premiership over the last 3 seasons. He's also good from set pieces.

I'm worried if he goes, where we will replace the goals from especially as there are no signs of the only goalscorer we had upfront last season returning at present (Klasnic)!

Really? I stand corrected then, I've never thought of him as taller than 1.80. However I still feel the strongest aspect of his game is his speed, he needs to play besides a bigger forward or in a mainly counter-attacking team to be effective. Speaking of Swedish forwards, Marcus Berg is set to loaned out from Hamburg. Definitely more suited to the lone striker role, although he is not the tower of flesh Allardyce seems to be on the lookout for.

Is Coyle in for him?

He's a good lad always gives his all and has some potential and on a free is well worth a look. He's much better than Keith and despite his current injury is far less injury prone than Grella.
