He can't be transferred from Spurs to Spain, just other club sides.

With Torres out of form it might be quite astute of them if they can pull it off.

If they sign him by midday today can he play on Sunday?

Nicko, are we due any conversations with Jelavic seeing the Rovers squad and Sam is in Austria?

I don't know how far that one has gone - or can go at the moment. But he is definitely on the 'hot' list if money becomes available.

By the way, to suggest it is 'business as usual' during this current time is burying heads in the sand.

It is July 9 and NOT a signing made.

None of US is suggesting it's business as usual. WE all know there's something afoot. The club sent out that message to try to stop speculation at this stage, I suspect, but all they've suceeded in doing is create anxiety and nervousness among a certain element of our fans. We have no right to be told details of anything, but we do have a right to be treated like thinking adults, and that means not fobbing us off with platitudes like "business as usual".

Thanks for that Nicko, all the doom and gloom brigade will be wetting themselves over that comment.

No signings have been made but I am sure Sam will get his man (or men) in good time.

Looking at the transfers made by Premier League clubs so far nobody has made any groundbreaking signings. Hitzlsperger to West Ham? Beckford to Everton? Boselli to Wigan? Fletcher to Wolves? Blake and Petrov to Bolton? Out of that lot I'd have taken Petrov for sure and possibly Boselli but I don't know too much about him. Zigic looks a great signing for Big Club but he was out of our league financially anyway.

We can forget the top 6 or 7 sides, who they sign doesn't effect us but the teams around us are not exactly lighting up the transfer market with their signings.

Every transfer window is the same, we move slowly and quietly but it all comes together before the window closes.

Tell me the last window when Rovers had NO signings made by July 9?

In the meantime I will get the sand.

So we never played 2-3 short passes and then launch it in the strikers direction??? Hughesy we play kick and rush to an extreme, yes we don't always do it, but in the main we do especially away from home.

Chalkboard

Ok here you go - filter out Blackburns latest games from last season. (perhaps Arsenal, Villa & Wolves)....click on passes & then check out each player - you will find that other than Robbo's long kicks & Pedersens long throws - there isnt too much big boots up as people make out.

I honestly couldn't say, but my point is that we are not exactly being left behind by our competitors and the transfer market is extremely slow.

I'll get the bucket, I'd rather 'put my head in the sand' than panic over something that is purely rumour based whilst stirring the proverbial... :tu:

...and we had Allardyce talking about how he wanted all of his transfer dealings done before the start of the World Cup.

Then again...maybe he has managed that.

That may well be the case, but many players are on post world cup holidays...

Dos Santos I'd never going to come to us, he has just been sort listed as young player of the world cup, he is up against Muller but we will never get him on loan and defo not for £2.5m

When you have Mesut Oezil(sp) and Muller both reaching the semi finals, he may be short listed, but as far as im concerned will not win it. Oezil and Muller have been terrific, and one of them will get it.

Come on we dont play our entire game in the air....yes long kicks from Robbo we do, but the rest we dont... many a time last season we had players running with the ball. Kalinic would benefit from Dos Santos' ability im sure.

Fed up of listening to all this we only play long ball nonesense - its like reading the sun or something!

Lol. No smoke without fire. We look to launch it most of the time - granted we did start to play a bit more toward the end of the season, but the majority of our game is about getting it forward as quickly as possible, and winning free-kicks or throw ins so we can launch it into the 18 yard box. Not pretty by any means, and not my cup of tea in any shape or form. About the only positive is it got us to 10th place.

It has a name - percentage football.

Dos Santos? PLEASE SAM, PLEASE.

We desperately need someone like him to make the 4-3-3 formation work, he's the perfect wide striker for us. Whether we can get him or not though...I'm not sure. I imagine there will plenty of interest from the likes of Spain.

Couldn't agree more. We have no-one who can carry the ball effectively - if we got Dos Santos we might not need to launch it every time.

Makes a change dunnit?

I mean not one of our `Superstars` has been linked with a move to Man City/Liverpool/Chelsea/West Ham etc etc.

JW must have stopped putting them dratted Clauses in the contracts!

Either that or there are no superstars left to sell.
