i think dos santos would be a great signing , but has others have said it would have to be on-loan and i think spuds are looking so sell and i'm sure i heard or read somewhere valencia were after him as a cheap replacement for David Villa

We should have a great chance of bringing him on loan with a chance of making it permanent. With no disrespect to Ipswich, we're a top 10 team with a good chance of getting into Europe next season as well as offering him a chance to show us why he wanted to play in the Premier League. He had a good World Cup and although he isn't the finished product, he certainly offers something different to what we've got. He's got pace, plenty of skill and is a player which excites supporters when he's on the ball....he can also be very frustrating which is why he's perfect for our club because we all like a good moan!

Thing is if it's true he fancies Spain then it would be a non starter anyway.

I think he'd be a brilliant signing for us but I wont get excited about signing anyone just yet

Guardado is only 23 years old.

If anyone have more of a clue than me; I thought I saw Guardado playing the central midfield role in the WC, but wiki says he is a left winger.

You have Guardado confused w/ Geraldo Torrado.... the MF,who w/o digging into WIKI is a bit over 30 or shortly getting there. Andres Guardado is currently playing a depor and is an exceptional left winger/back. Good player. i 'd to see him in our white/blue--- Gio however is a completely overrated prat.

I think Guardado did play more centrally when on, left of a midfield 3. Not 100% though

To be honest with you I would have to say he did not look anything special in the W/C fluffed his lines on a few occasions remind of you of anyone?. Don't think he was experienced enough to come in and make an impact I don't think we have missed out much on there & don't think he was exactly high up on the wish list. On the other hand Annan would be a good signing but after the W/C his price would be massively inflated we could only prob afford him when this takeover goes through by which time he would be fixed up.

Notice how the German clubs are quietly signing their targets?

The Bundesliga is undoubtedly the coming power whilst morons like Cook are paying way too much for players of dubious current form and ability.

The Bundesliga is the best run league in Europe, cheap tickets, standing sections and grown men being allowed to have a beer during the game.

Looking at the transfers made by Premier League clubs so far nobody has made any groundbreaking signings. Hitzlsperger to West Ham? Beckford to Everton? Boselli to Wigan? Fletcher to Wolves? Blake and Petrov to Bolton? Out of that lot I'd have taken Petrov for sure and possibly Boselli but I don't know too much about him. Zigic looks a great signing for Big Club but he was out of our league financially anyway.

We can forget the top 6 or 7 sides, who they sign doesn't effect us but the teams around us are not exactly lighting up the transfer market with their signings.

Can't agree with that at all, two of our most direct rivals for the spots above the relegation places, Wigan and Wolves have invested 7m each in a striker. By way of contrast we have lost McCarthy and Di Santo from last season's squad with seemingly no money whatsoever being made available for Premiership quality replacement(s).

Of course there is no guarantee that Wigans and Wolves new signings will set the world on fire but all things being equal they should both be quite a bit stronger and we'll be quite a bit weaker.
