Would Sam be allowed to sign him, given the nothing doing comments?

Gosling on nothing but a wage is attractive for anyone. That would not interfere with any of the current 'discussions' going on.

This should be resolved one way or another within a day or so.

Isn't our current youth coach the one who was the head of youth development when Gosling was coming through? If so then it may give Rovers a advantage should we be after signing him.

Thanks Roberto, how was the grappa last night?

Is slowHandsanovic (Slovenian GK) on the radar?

No Grappa last night,One look at Paul Gascoigne put me right off.

City trying to hi-jack Maicon to Real Madrid(still think he'll end up at Real)

City & Fenerbahce talking with Krasic's agent, after becoming mad with Juventus.

Dzeko to City should happen next week,If Juventus don't finally firm up interest, and fee can finally be agreed.

Jo to Real Sociedad,Onuoha to Sunderland or Everton.

Last i heard Bayern were after Samir Handanovic.

Come off it Rev

Wigan have signed a player with a reputation and an unknown quantity in terms of Premiership football.

Wolves have invested in a player who didnt exactly do much in a poor Burnley team and there is nothing to suggest that Wolves will do anything but face yet another survival fight again.

Zigic was one of the poorest players in the world cup.

Even as it stands I wouldnt think Rovers would finish any lower than either wigon and wolves and that is with the currnet staff.

Notice how the German clubs are quietly signing their targets?

The Bundesliga is undoubtedly the coming power whilst morons like Cook are paying way too much for players of dubious current form and ability.

Man City are a total joke. I would be ashamed if our club was run like there's, despite all the money they have. Man City were going nowhere up until they were bought by the Arab billionaire and now all of a sudden they are a big club. The players they are signing would have laughed in their faces a few seasons ago if they had asked them to play for them (obviously City wouldn't have had the money to buy them anyway). David Silva has just given up the chance to play in the Champions League to join City. The same for Yaya Toure. The way that Gary Cook behaves is just awful, the buying of players who wouldn't have touched City a few years ago, for vast sums of money (more than they are worth), with the knowledge that if they don't win the league, they'll dump them on the scrap heap and buy someone else.

As for Samir Handanovic, I hear that Arsenal want him. It's about time they wised up and bought a proper goalkeeper.

Good to hear we're looking at Gosling. Would be stupid not to.

I said before that Dos Santos would be a promising signing. He's a technically gifted player and would fit perfectly into the 'hole' or wide right.

Royrover, about the first 3 or 4 sentences in your post could have been said about rovers a few years ago. We didn't complain then did we. Replace Arab billionaire with Lancashire multi millionaire and I'm pretty sure you are left with what other clubs were saying about us around 1993.

Word on the street is that Man City have put in a £25m bid for Raoul Moat. They've no idea who he is, but they've heard everyone's after him.

I think that link is as good as Dead now!

Gosling would be a great purchase, even with higher wages he would be a good asset.

Latest is that Rovers are keeping tabs and are very keen on Lamine Koné of French club chateauroux...............The exciting rightback/Right winger is a strong well built player who has already played international football with France.......he was all set to come over for trials but everything has been put on hold wilst the striker situation is sorted out..........He looks the real deal to me and is an ideal Big Sam footballer..........snap him up......

I was just thinking the same Ricky. But in the two cases there is one oustanding difference..........we had Kenny Dalglish identifying the purchases for us. Huge difference;)

Always enjoy reading these kind of posts from you unleaded, I get irrationally excited about these youngsters for some reason.

Having said that, it always brings back memories of Peter Odemwingie and Mounior El Hamdaoui. We turned both of those down (Odemwingie, El Hamdaoui) and both have gone on to do very well at a high level in Europe. Add those to Annan and we're probably looking at a £20 million loss in turning them down.

I don't think there is anything in the careers of Odemwingie and El Hamdaoui which suggests they would have hacked it at Premier League level. Annan on the other hand I think is a terribly bad miss by Rovers if only because he does what our other midfielders cannot do- retains posession.

Always fun to see us linked to young talent, but another right-back? Really? We have too many as it is and it won't be easy to shift them. Money would be better spent on a new left-back.

Watching him move through the mid field areas reminds me of a young Vieira, maybe that is where Sam sees him, along side N'Zonzi in a 2-3-1 or maybe on the right side of a 1-2-2-1.

Looks to have a bit of class about him, he just looks so well balanced.

Yes I do like the look of him.

Salgado, Chimbonda, Jakobsen and Emerton, not long left on their contracts, big bonus he won't be on 30-40k a week.
