Exiled_Rover Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Reminds me of Diouf. Perfect signing for us Diouf isn't lazy, he's just slooooooow.

1864roverite Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Gosling signing for Newcasle does not make any sense at all. Leaving Everton for a club in serious financial trouble and with aspirations only of survival is a no brainer, I wonder who is representing him ? I know its the mail but please, even the most dimmest of footballers can work out signing for a better club than the barcodes.
Hi Mack Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Errrr...so we haven't signed anyone yet? Maybe now the WC is over, talks with Iniesta can begin!
nicko Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Gosling signed for Newcastle United today. Rovers had a try for him but not enough. That's not really a criticism. Newcastle were the only club willing to sign Gosling today which was - for some bizarre reason - the deadline imposed by the Gosling camp. Hey ho. Move on.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 No big loss. Money saved for a striker....hopefully.

JAL Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Could be close to signing for someone.. Just pray to god it aint Rovers!
Hughesy Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Gosling signing for Newcasle does not make any sense at all. Ah but have you seen the nightlife up their!!

Yes but the barcodes are the best fans in the world and should be close to winning the league next season. Like the geordies, dont let facts get in the way. Gosling hasnt come through the ranks as many expected a couple of years ago, is now on massive wages, so not a lot lost for me.
Ricky Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 The BBC gossip colums have West Brom down as trying to secure a loan deal for Marcus Berg. Now that's a deal we should be all over.
Bobby G Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Marcus Berg would be an excellent buy. But knowing us we are looking for that elusive striker and he cant be found anywhere. I want to know what our criteria is exactly?
Iceman Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Marcus Berg would be an excellent buy. But knowing us we are looking for that elusive striker and he cant be found anywhere. I want to know what our criteria is exactly? Looking for either Free, loan or under 1 pound players and previously played for either Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ac Milan, Inter Milan, Man United etc. Will provide a good home, with medical aid provided
T4E Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I don't see three clubs being interested in Jones...not been the same since he left The Monkees. I think he's still got plenty in his locker....
Ricky Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 The BBC does go on to say that bergs club are looking for a large loan fee. Surely it would still be a sensible loan deal, he does score goals.
Hughesy Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 If the club has a blanket on any signings because of the potential takeover then we may aswell shut this thread...as it appears nothing is going to happen. Looks like we stick with what we have for now!
alexanders Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 And then the question. Would people be happy if we didnt have any more outgoings or ingoings and started the season with the squad we have now?
CrazyIvan Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 And then the question. Would people be happy if we didnt have any more outgoings or ingoings and started the season with the squad we have now? No, not at all. We need at least one more striker if not two as a priority.
thenodrog Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 The BBC does go on to say that bergs club are looking for a large loan fee. Surely it would still be a sensible loan deal, he does score goals. Exactly how much of a loan fee do they want Ricky?
Iceman Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 i just cannot see, how we can go into the season with 2 strikers. Its crazy, and i understand the takeover talks are holding things up, but we will look silly if this takeover does not go through. Either way, we are bascically in a catch 22 situation at the moment. Do we sign somebody on a free, just to fill a gap? If the takeover happens, and Sam is given money, then we will have players surplus to requirements.
gumboots Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 No, not at all. We need at least one more striker if not two as a priority. Agreed. I'd not be happy at all. We've been crying out for a midfielder for the last 2 or 3 seasons at tleast and now we desperately need at least one striker, if not 2. we cannot expect to go into this season as light up front as we currently are and stay out of trouble. Not that we'd definitely be relegated, but who wants to watch another season of relegation worries with no sign of being able to do anything to change our team around and bring on a player who might score if you're struggling up to then.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 And then the question. Would people be happy if we didnt have any more outgoings or ingoings and started the season with the squad we have now? Not really. Going into the season with just Roberts and Kalinic as our recognised strikers is a prospect i am dreading. Kalinic is still learning but ultimately might not fit in here due to Sam's inflexibility and Roberts is an impact sub not a starter at all. Dunny again is the only really creative player we have, if he gets injured then who will play in the hole behind the lone striker? A system that Sam clearly favours above everything else. If I recall Sam said recently in one of the papers that we were lucky last season in terms of injuries and had one of the lowest injury rates in the league, that doesn’t mean the same will happen next season. If we get as number of injuries to key players plus the sides with their superior budgets actually, this time spend their money on good players then we could be in some trouble next season.
alexanders Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 EL Zhar wants to leave Liverpool. A player I would like to see at Ewood Park. He was thought to be one of the biggest talents from the French league a couple of years ago, but Benitez horrible managerial work have destroyed him.
RoverRich Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 People need to remember it is not just 2 strikers we have. As well as Roberts and Kalinic we also have Rigters! We do need at least 1 new striker though, preferably 2 but I can't see that happening unless the takeover goes through some time soon.
