Dos santos on loan with a view to sign would be perfect.

He could be exactly what we need out right.

Shame it will never happen.

Anyway has dindane signed anywhere yet?

Who were they, again?

<_< Read from above.

We have spots for three central midfielders, of which Bradley could play in 2 (defensive, box-to-box). And we already have N'Zonzi, Grella, Pedersen, Andrews, Linganzi and perhaps even Emerton competing for the two spots. Of these 4? are paid as regular first teamers, so until we get rid of one (or two), I don't think we would be looking to add one more body in that area. Not saying that Bradley couldn't perform better than Andrews or be more fit than Grella.

Apparently we are closing in on a 6' 2" 15 year old named Luka Krajnc. While I'm sure he's Academy bound my cynic whispers that Sam has found his main stiker. :wacko:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1294164/Blackburn-ready-beat-Inter-AC-Milan-Luka-Krajnc.html

On the other hand, maybe the selection of Jones, Olsen and Hanley have convinced the young stars in waiting that Blackburn is the place to be if you are young and hungry.

On another depressing note, Blackpool is considering Michael Bradley on loan. Surely we'd be a better choice? Sam, please make a call to Edson Buddle and Michael Bradley. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1294179/Blackpool-weighing-Everton-target-USA-World-Cup-star-Michael-Bradley.html

And by strange coincidence Gary Hooper costs 2.5 million. We allegedly have 2.5 million. I vote we buy him. Striker crisis solved. :D

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1292602/Celtic-2-5m-Scunthorpe-striker-Gary-Hooper-late-bid-derail-Middlesbrough-deal.html

Not sure why we are going for Krajnc.. didnt we recently sign that 17yr old central def spanish lad (hernandez I think) that Barca and Real wanted..

That would mean we have Hanley, Hernandez, Kranjnc and Jones in the 17-20 bracket for central def roles.

Just read that Besiktas are in for Guti.

Allegedly 28k a week on a two year deal. Now that has to be fiction.

28k per week.. wth.. cant be right.. if it is and we cant afford that it says allot.

You know things are bad when we say we can't even afford a Scunny striker.

Hurry up and sort out the takeover one way or another, please.

'One way or another' results in clubs turning out like Pompey.

I want the take over sorting only one way, the best way for the club.

There has been only one signing by our competitors that I would have really liked to see at Ewood, that's Zigic at Big Club. Other than that there have been no major deals. I do not believe we have anything to worry about, we'll sign at least a striker before the window is closed then hopefully have funds and time to build a little more in January.

We had the chance and we blew it.

Bradley is from what i've seen a superior player to Andrews, Grella and MGP. A genuine box-to-box player, something we just don't have.

Probably because we have Pedersen, Grella and Andrews for the role already.

I would say that's 3 reasons WHY we should go after Bradley ......

EDIT: just read all the other posts saying the same!

Well, apparently, we could never find someone of a higher calibre than Pedersen on our budget.

Hernandez and Kranjc will not be near the 1st team anytime soon though, and besides im delighted that the youngsters are coming through. Also, Hernandez if he was wanted by Barca and Madrid, and Krajnc wanted by the Milan clubs, then why should we moan if they signed for Rovers

Lol. Can't wait for Pedersen's non-performances next season, and the mass eating of words on here. ;)

There's nothing like being positive for the forth coming season...

We resigned MGP because, as Sam made very clear, it would cost us at least £6m to replace him. So instead we resigned a player who has a wealth of experience in the Premier League, who we know what he is capable of and is already settled in our squad. Imagine if we were also looking for a replacement for MGP? I admit we are desperate for a striker but if we also had the fill a gap in the squad to replace MGP as well then we would be in dire straights.

It amazes me that a lack of signings (whilst other clubs are also dragging their feet) turns into abuse towards our current playing staff.

We should have faith in our management team and board to do the best they possibly can for the club.

In my opinion resigning MGP after his performances over the last few seasons was a complete waste of our limited resources, but that's only my subjective view on how good or otherwise he is.

Who other clubs have or haven't signed at this precise point is completely irrelevant imo as they may be genuinely be biding their time and keeping their powder dry whereas we seemingly have no powder in the first place.

Sam Allardyce John Williams and Tom Finn may be acting in good faith with the Clubs best interests at heart but they do need to be given a chance to do the job properly. I've been watching us since we were near the bottom of the old 3rd division c1971 and I can never remember the manager not being allowed to freshen the squad up with a new signing or two.

You have hit the nail on the head there. We don't actually know do we?

out of interest sake Rev, who would you prefer to keep, an out of sorts MGP, Andrews or the ever injured Grella? Okay, so the guy has had a few bad seasons, but between him, Andrews and Grella I would certainly be happy to keep MGP. He needs to get his act together though, because from deadball situations, we know what he is capable of. The other 2, Andrews and Grella are eating just as much into our resources financially. Andrews to be fair to him tries hard, fair play to him, but we know he is not good enough at this level. Grella, is the player who I feel although a better footballer than Andrews, has become a passenger at the club, and an expensive one at that. Can we afford that, of course we cannot, but right now we have no other choice but to hold onto these guys because we just don’t have the money to replace them. We have to make do with what we have right now.

I know we can't let everyone go but none of those three really.

I would have just thought that for the sort of wages Pedersen is on we could have found an up and coming youngster who would offer a lot more.

Pedersen doesn't offer anything worthwhile at all these days imo.

Not at all moaning.. just trying to work out our facination with central defenders atm :)

Why has this turned into another pedersen bashing thread?

Some will never see his worth even when the stats are in black and White so why go over old ground again and again.

He's signed so why not just get behind him next season instead of whining and moaning about him and groaning every time a pass may go astray.

You're right on one thing there, we are used to frustrating windows but this one is a whole new level.

Not even a robbie fowler to discuss?

Anyone spot Andy van der Meyde yet?
