Nicko is it true burnley have accepted a 1.3 million bid from rangers for eagles? I know he's got 12 months on his current deal left and can be inconsistent but he's exactley the same as bentley was prior coming here.

What do youake of him Nicko?

Eagles is a talented lad but can drive you mad. He might find it hard at Rangers where you have to be good every week.

I know you won't name them, but in your opinion are they worth looking at????

One is for the squad...cheap.

The other would be a starter...not a silly price. However too much at the moment.

Nicko, any truth in the rumour that Plessis is going to be transfered? If true, how much would he cost?

Maybe he could be a good option for Rovers.

Plessis can go. Price about £600-700,000. No better than anything you have.

Sorry to bombard with questions Nicko but any chance you could tell us what positions they play? Both strikers? I assume the 'starter' could well be a striker if we have to pay a price for him.

I'm still flabbergasted at the ludicrous notion of selling Roberts.

Fair enough if we had the funds to bring in someone substantially better but we can't even find one Premiership quality striker for 2.5m.

So what should we do, I know, lets sell Roberts for 2m and leave ourselves needing to find two strikers for 4.5m.

Is it April 1st?

One is a keeper and one is a striker.

Nowhere near again.

The keeper is young, the striker is mid-20s but quite good.

Both are so obscure that even unleaded won't get their names.

Why oh why do we need another 'keeper?

We've got Robbo, Bun, Brown and Fielding already. Even if one goes, we've still got more than sufficient cover.

The mind boggles.

I wish it was, just the kind we need but I thought he was on a free as out of contract?

He has one year left on his current deal as far as I can remember. I think his fee isn't too bad but his wages would be too high for us ?

This wage bill of ours really is too high, if that's what's sucking up all the money. And if the reasoning for it is that "well if we didn't offer them so much money, they'd never come to us", than that's no good at all. We really need a new selling point than "come to us, we'll pay you good, and if other clubs like you you can leave at a moment's whim".

The sad thing is we pay over the odds to players who are pathetically average. 'We couldn't afford to replace a player like Pedersen', harped the fans. Really? Pedersen will cost us over £8m with this new contract. He'll be here for the whole four years, because there's no way anyone could afford his wages now. It's the same situation for players like Diouf, Chimbonda, Andrews, Roberts. We dig ourselves into a hole by offering these average players bumper contracts, as if it's a privilege to have them at little old Rovers. I can understand when we insure players like Bentley, Santa Cruz, Bellamy etc. but for this lot? Not a chance.

He had huge potential at 23 when he moved to Europe, but the fact that he has been warming benches for the last 4-5 years means that he has stagnated. He wasnt even that ambitious I think to want to move to clubs to play regular football. Great at winning the ball back and absolutely no distribution skills. His passing is woeful. Would he add something to the team? I think he could be a good squad player, and can see him taking over from the ever-absent Grella in the holding role. But can he step it up again after 4 years of virtually no football? I am not sure. He is an ever present in the national team though, although lost his place as a guaranteed starter in the last two years.

Just what we need, another hatchet man. Let's actually look at someone who can put his foot on the ball and pass in a straight line.

I was rather hoping we could find someone to play diagonal balls, they are the ones which open up defences!!

Why do you say that? That is an accusation that Brad Freidel has denied frequently. So if nicko's continued insistance that brad did not want to leave just what did change his mind so drastically and in so short a time?

Someone on here said (and I feel sure the info came from Brad himself) that Randy Lerner had convinced Brad to sign for Villa by promising to take a financial interest in Brad's football School in the USA. I don't think that was the original reason for Brad's wanting to go, but it surely went a long way towards helping him make a decision.
