Why oh why do we need another 'keeper?

We've got Robbo, Bun, Brown and Fielding already. Even if one goes, we've still got more than sufficient cover.

The mind boggles.

I'd imagine we're looking to ship Bun and Brown out.

Frank would be the Number 2 keeper next season.

I think Bunn or Brown will go but not both. We don't have enough quality goalkeepers in our ranks to support the sale of both.

I think Brown will be the goalkeeper who will be looking to move purely because he wants to play first team football and also wants to get back into the Wales team. Bunn has learnt his trade in the lower divisions and is now ready to become the number 2 goalkeeper for Blackburn.

Isn't Sam looking to sign another keeper?

We can manage with three.

I watched Frank twice at Rochdale last season as wasnt overly impressed with him, time is on his side though as he is quite young for a keeper.

Yeah to replace either Bunn or Brown. Not 1 in, 2 out. If they both leave and we get this new keeper then we could face the situation where Robinson gets injured, then we'd only be left with our new keeper & an inexperienced Fielding and other untested youth players.

We don't want to be in the situation Man City were in last season.

Anyway, for all we know this keeper on trial could be another youngster for the future or might be pants.

I agree, he isn't consistent enough to become our number 2 keeper yet and is still learning a lot. I also still have doubts over his height to become a top level keeper.

I know there have been high profile goalkeepers out there such as Casillas & Barthez who are approx 5' 11" but they were already playing first team football for top clubs by the time they were Fieldings age.

I'd like to see him go out on loan for another season and maybe try and get Championship football or at a good standard in league 1.

Logged on and checked the takeover thread, to find I'm the only one there. Must be an 11 O'Clocker I say to myself, and sure enough, there's 55 people logged on with the same thought process (only no Nicko).

p.s as an Aussie a big yes to Holman, box-to-box and can score a goal. Unsure on Vidosic just yet, hasn't done enough (although it's still early days).

The surprise trialist is due to be an Isareli lad called Gai Assulin, who has just left Barcelona.

Assulin was a big talent as a kid and played for his country at a very young age.

He had a bad knee injury and lost a season but played for Barca ressies last season and also appeared in some of their friendlies.

He is only 19, a gifted midfielder.

And if he accepts the Rovers invite he should be here very soon.

Obviously a free and the wages are not ridiculous, so it fits with the current situation.

No more clues on the keeper and the striker who may head over too.

Assulin seems to be the first expected.
