The surprise trialist is due to be an Isareli lad called Gai Assulin, who has just left Barcelona.

Assulin was a big talent as a kid and played for his country at a very young age.

He had a bad knee injury and lost a season but played for Barca ressies last season and also appeared in some of their friendlies.

He is only 19, a gifted midfielder.

And if he accepts the Rovers invite he should be here very soon.

Obviously a free and the wages are not ridiculous, so it fits with the current situation.

No more clues on the keeper and the striker who may head over too.

Assulin seems to be the first expected.

must be a good player if he's at barca. hope he comes over for a trial. Do you know anything about this brazil striker on trial?

Very highly rated and I was surprised Barcelona released him. Has a second passport so work permit wouldnt be an issue as far as I know. Can play anywhere in midfield or even off the striker. Would be an exciting talent. Why get excited over something that most likely wont happen.

Strange one. The guy seems to be the same fella described as a defender who arrived a couple of weeks ago.

Beginning to think he is using a 'moody' name on the team sheet.

Or someone got the wrong name in the first place.

Not guilty, your honour.

If wikipedia is anything to go by Barcelona put a €20M buy-out clause in his contract at the age of 16 it also mentions that both Arsenal and Real Madrid are/were interested in his services. Sounds like he could be half-decent if that's anything to go by.

How the hell do we convince him to come here?

"Well Gai we're like Barcelona really, I mean we start with a B and then mmmmmm that's it, sign on the dotted line lad"

What are you on about, we have an a, c, l, r ,n & an o, we have loads in common.

Very, very highly rated kid at one stage. If he comes it will be a bit of a coup really but I can see bigger fish entering the race.

Agree. Plus, if he is a real prospect then i imagine the idea of a trial might not go down too well.

We all know that Barcelona steal our tactics and style of play, anybody still got the video of Rafael Benitez's post-match interview in which he unleashes this tightly guarded secret to the world's media? That should seal the deal.

Nicko - whats our chances with Gai Assulin ? Mot so long ago all the big Premiership clubs were linked with him. Was that interest ever there ? To be honest we would have little chance of attracting him if Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea (all linked) followed up on their supposed interest.

Never heard of the lad but he sounds promising and the kind of signing that would make perfect sense for us.

At the end of the day only one mans opinion counts......unleaded where are you?

Paul Ince sent me this video:

:o

Nearly as good as Villanueva apparently.

That video needs the Benny Hill music.

I think this could be one of those times we start to get excited irrationally then he doesn't even sign

I'll be amazed if he accepts a trial, I'm sure he'll receive offers from clubs around our level without having to do one.

If we can get him that would be great, he's exactly the sort of player we need in Sam's formation; maybe if we had more skilful players in the attacking three midfield places, we might not try to bypass that area so often.

Do all Barca B players have their own web site. :(

WWW. gaiassulin.com

Keith Andrews website

The world welcomed me with rationing and a deepening tension between East and West. Nothing to do with me I might add..

No wonder he stands around pointing at everyone. He's 61 years old!

How long would he have to wait to get into one of the big clubs starting eleven ????????????

How long before I get into the starting eleven then Sam, as soon as you sign that piece of paper lad and don't bother going back for your kit, we have plenty that a lad called Carlos left behind..

My favourit quote;

"he's like a young version of Messi except much worse in everyway "

Snap him up! He can play next to our keith. Who is like a young version of franz beckenbauer except sh1t in every way.

I'm quite a fan of the quote:

" dear Gai

your ###### and a huge let down in my life clumsy, (Please don't use that word again) off to ipwhich town "
