If we did sign an American striker, Jozy is the only one of use right now (I still consider Dempsey and Donovan more midfield types). Lad is still quite young, only 20 if I recall correctly. He has the physicality for the prem when he wants to use it (see the goal where he turned Pique in the Confed Cup) and still also has the youthful speed that can cause issues for a defence. Didn't get to see him much for Hull, persoally, but in the USA set up he suffers from a lack of a talented, consistent partner. He's inconsisent (which most 20yos are) and can switch off, but he does have that small bit of flair that us yanks aren't known for on the pitch.

Where's D'Allessandro now?

Surley he'd be worth asking about.

Someone said he was unattached, but I think it's too good to be true. Wiki says he's still with Internacional, Brazil.

Any chance we would be interested in Altidore?

Very much in the Roberts mold but younger and with potential, at times he looked decent at Hull

Big strong and can't hit the arse end of a cow, pass.

If we were to sign him, who the hell would coach him at Brockhal, l doubt are coaches will have ever seen a lad with so much talent. ;)

We do need a more attack minded coach its one area I feel we really fall down in.

Love the way the iphone changes altidore to apricots.

I thought you'd lost it.

T4E, B4E or I2E, quality, whatever your name is today.

Assulin has been invited over. He is due to decide today.

His agent has done deals with the manager in the past.

So there is a clear line of communication.

This one has a chance - I don't think Rovers and the agent would have put it to the player if he was genuinely still wanted by the Arsenals of the world.

He needs to prove he is fit and strong enough for the Premier. Might as well do it at Blackburn.

His agent being, Pini Zahavi, who is also Di Santos's agent, does the link between two of his players suggest that the Di Santo loan is dead. Or is he just pushing his players towards Sam as a favour. ;)

Not to be pedantic, just to avoid confusion between the striker we already had on loan and the midfielder we possibly want on loan...Dos Santos, not Di Santo.

Actually, he'd be a perfect foil for Niko. Does a good job creating space and creating chances, just needs someone next to him that can put those chances away - something he majorly lacks with the USMNT and lacked with Hull.

So a striker that can't score himself then?, sounds just like Roberts to me. :P

1 in 28 at Hull does not inspire me regardless of who was playing behind him he should have scored more to be what we need IE a goal scorer. Its hardly as if our midfield creates loads anyway.

Sorry to say there is not an Assulin update.

I don't think he has decided whether to come over yet...but there is still time.

A contact in agent tells me there are other clubs after him, but I don't think they are bigger than Rovers.

So it's just a 'wait and see' what his answer is.
