Dont know why you think this, Whe are in the middle of a takeover from a man who's wealth is not known nor his commitment, alas our mighty budget of 2.5 million is not spendable because it will be classed as an asset to the sale of the club, and to cap it all the players we want shut of we cant seem to give them away.

Many of the fans dont like the way Sam operates but you cant knock his patience, the Guti deal would be dead and buried if we had the coin to do it but I really dont think nothing will happen till the takeover is completed and I dont see Guti waiting that long.

There's a pun to be had somewhere in the middle of that! I suppose the fact that the Guti negotiations seem to keep faltering with other clubs and keeps dragging on could be considered as a sign that maybe he's waiting for something else to happen. Whether that is simply the hope that Madrid will keep him (which he has hinted at) or simply keeping his options open remains to be seen. I just wonder though if he fancies a crack at the Preier League with ourselves and is happy to play the waiting game! We shall see.....

I thought that too as I was posting.

Didn't Mouriniho say that as far as he is concerned Guti has left the club?

I would have thought that given all the rumours surrounding him at the moment that he could easily have signed for someone by now, thats what makes me think he's hanging on for something.

We won't sign Guti, or Raul or Assulin. We all know what happens every transfer window. All this speculation then at the end of the day we sign some geeza from French division 2 teams and they usually step up to the plate.

Also the takeover won't happen, this is Blackburn remember? Good stuff rarely happens to this club, but we make do.

That's right, nothing ever good ever happens. One relegation in 30 years - all dampens the two promotions, two cup wins, heavens knows how many Semi Final appearances, having the best striker in the history of the Premier League, being the 9th best team in the history of the Premier League, breaking the British Transfer record on a couple of occasions, winning at Old Trafford, Anfield, Highbury, you name it, owning burnley, European Tours, the redevelopment of Ewood and the creation of Brockhall and winning The Premier League.

It's been one long rollercoaster of bloody misery.

A bargain compared to Andy Cole's total cost here. In fact we'd prob have 20k pw change if we signed both Guti and Raul. ^_^

The alternative to signing Cole when we did would have been relegation that season, no Worthington Cup win, no future Cup semi finals, no European campaigns, no sales of Bentley, Santa Cruz and Warnock at a huge profit, and the loss of what has subsequently been nine years Premiership and TV money to date.

Cole was quite a bargain in that context even though you'd have to ask Souness what he was thinking of in giving him away for nowt when we could surely have got a fee for him.

Exactly my thinking.....

Andy Cole was an Excellent signing. He was great to watch and scored goals, To say otherwise is crazy.

Relegation was a definate if it wasnt for his goals, if you think every season we have been in the premiership

since, weve collected the Television money and I think Cole's goals probably paid for themself!
