sparky12 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 This deal is one major pain in the butt. The agent who says he has Assulin as a client claims he is in Israel and awaiting a 'minor' operation. And yet another agent has lined him up to be at Rovers today. I don't think he has shown up...and the way this is heading it sounds like one to avoid. typical!!

BPF Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 typical!! Yes, totally predictable by definition. Could see that coming a million miles away.
Hi Mack Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Has Nigel Reo-Coker been mentioned in the red tops today?
67splitscreen Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 If not in the red tops certainly on tinternet, sale of the day, 1m.
Doaksie Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Not sure if anyone can confirm, but Benjani headed towards Newcastle?? Any news? Crossing my fingers.
ffan Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry if already posted. Nugent snubs Premier League move to Blackburn It's a shocking article.
Mattyblue Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry if already posted. Nugent snubs Premier League move to Blackburn It's a shocking article. Indeed, with those quotes from Nugent, the headline wrote itself!
Hi Mack Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry if already posted. Nugent snubs Premier League move to Blackburn It's a shocking article. OMG how can he snub us if we haven't been in for him........LAZY!
nicko Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Tim southampton, did you watch Damned United yesterday? Brian Clough signed players on their doorstep.....without the chairmans consent! Maybe a tactic Big Sam could employ..... :-) Just seen the film for the first time. How could anyone have knocked that? Great movie. Brilliant lines. Wonderful. Absolute joy.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry if already posted. Nugent snubs Premier League move to Blackburn It's a shocking article. Best news so far ffan!
67splitscreen Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Tim southampton, did you watch Damned United yesterday? Brian Clough signed players on their doorstep.....without the chairmans consent! Maybe a tactic Big Sam could employ..... :-) Watched it earlier this year, was in stitches, it's an absolute must watch. Great banter between Clough and Revie. As for Nugent, as many of them down the road have said, he's now at his level. Hope he sticks to his word and no amount of money changes it.
broadsword Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Just seen the film for the first time. How could anyone have knocked that? Great movie. Brilliant lines. Wonderful. Absolute joy. Shame they played fast and loose with the truth.
Darwen Rover Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Gotta agree with u nicko... Cloughy was just before my time but after watching that movie I was severely hooked to the legen that is brian clough... If only we had him to manage England today eh?!
beerwins Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Just seen the film for the first time. How could anyone have knocked that? Great movie. Brilliant lines. Wonderful. Absolute joy. The film was only matched by the documentary that came after, I think its still showing on some I player or something. Sometimes you really dont envy the guys who have to do a post match interview with the managers, Strachan talking about yoghurts and mobile phones ringing and SAFC blasting the Germans but neither had anything over Brian Clough, now that guy would always keep you on your toes.
thenodrog Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 £1.5m in wages alone for him!? Crazy!! Surely if we let him go free then someone would take him off us? Bloody hell Hughesy! Obviously not for goodness sake.... we've been trying to offload him for nothing for a season now. Obviously no one thinks he is worth 30k pw and he won't move whilst he gets that from us. Why should he? No doubt people like him and situations like these are why no one with any sense wants to own a football club nowadays.
thenodrog Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Sorry if already posted. Nugent snubs Premier League move to Blackburn Another Zurab / Bullen situation. We will simply not have offered him the stupid wages that Pompey contracted him too when they wre busy heaping up their own funeraly pyre. I see Hull are having to pay Bullen to leave ffs! He's on so much that no one will touch him with a bargh pole. Celtic will take him but can't pay what he's on so as it's the only option to off load him Hull are having to pay him to go! Don't bet on that tactic not currently being employed by messrs Nugent and Kishanishvilli. As I've said frequently the lunatics are running the asylum.
roversmum Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Just seen the film for the first time. How could anyone have knocked that? Great movie. Brilliant lines. Wonderful. Absolute joy. Couldn't have put it better, Nicko, I love this film. Reading an abridged version of Cloughie's book 'Walking on Water - My Life' - should be required reading for all involved in the game. Must get a copy of the full story. Nugent? Didn't want him anyway, got no time for him at all. Zurab? Well, he's not the first, I don't blame him. He's a decent bloke.
OJRovers Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Shame they played fast and loose with the truth. The film was an adaption of the book, which wasn't meant to be exactly true but more of a dramatisation of his days at Leeds and how he got there. Really good book and film.
LeftWinger Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Another Zurab / Bullen situation. I see Hull are having to pay Bullen to leave ffs! I was wondering who Bullen was - then the penny dropped when you said Hull.
koi Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 One of my fav films and even the Mrs enjoyed watching it the other night. Top film. Can't take the Nugent story with any seriousness at all.
Hughesy Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Bloody hell Hughesy! Obviously not for goodness sake.... we've been trying to offload him for nothing for a season now. Obviously no one thinks he is worth 30k pw and he won't move whilst he gets that from us. Why should he? No we were offering him out at around £1m - we asked Reading for something like £750k fee...we should let him go for free & im sure clubs would show more interest. Also the LT says Assulin on trial is VERY unlikely to happen!! Knew it was too good to be true!
thenodrog Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Not mentioned specifically but this doesn't read like we'd demand a fee for him. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/8236348.Sam__It_s_time_for_Zurab_to_exit_Blackburn_Rovers/
Hughesy Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Not mentioned specifically but this doesn't read like we'd demand a fee for him. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/8236348.Sam__It_s_time_for_Zurab_to_exit_Blackburn_Rovers/ No but last season we were asking for a fee. For players like him we need to make it clear & use the media so clubs are aware he is completely free of any fee.
Majiball Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 A fee was demanded from Reading, their manager said the deal fell through because of it.
