Colin Murray was a horrible choice to replace Chiles. He contributed to the Five TV Football debacle and you can almost cringe at how hard he's trying to be tongue-in-cheek. Frank Skinner would have been a legendary replacement. Guy cracks me up!

I agree, Frank Skinner would have been a fantastic choice. An absolute legend, however I must admit to also apparently being in the minority and liking Colin Murray. The Northern Irish bias would probably explain that one though.

ITV must never, ever host a world cup game again. Their coverage has been terrible, as highlighted by the match last night. Both their commentators are screaming syphilitic morons, but whichever sausage jockey was on on the 'Uruguay vs. Africa' match should get their P45. The patronising crap about all of Africa being behind Ghana just shows the colonial mentality of the commentator, by lumping all the African countries together, since blacks all look alike or whatever. Honestly, the drivel that ITV throw in our faces makes the vuvuzela drone appealing.

And as Topman said, if Marcel is proud to be Ghanian, then why did he play for France for all that time?

the need for 'a narrative' and their total ignorance of Africa ensured ITV made a total horlicks in their usual style.

So the people of the Arabic north and the horn of Africa, through to the Congo were huddled around tv's routing for Ghana were they? Or was it that South Africans in the ground and in the vicinity preferred a win for Ghana?

I suppose it doesn't help when you have the likes of Sepp Blatter more than happy to oblige with a constant pro Africa agenda.

Anyone know why Hateley and Gus Poyet no longer appear on Jazeera?

We seem to be stuck with Venables, Dowie and Trevor Francis in almost every game.

Talking of Trevor Francis anyone else noticed how he switched to "Brit tourist abroad" English whenever he spoke to Gus Poyet ?

Also, am thankful that the incomprehensible Ali BenArbia isnt seen anymore in the studiom...

ITV have announced that their expert summariser Jim Beglin (don't laugh) for Uruguay v Holland is ill so isn't able to co-commentate tonight. So they've replaced him with.....no one, leaving us with Clive Tyldesley on his own. Great.

Oh dear. That means Tyldesley will be talking even more guff than usual.

Clive Tyldesly just suggested that maybe the linesman made a bad offside call because he isn't the same nationality as the ref. How does that work?
