joey_big_nose Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 That'd be a decent line up. It's funny how no one includes Bloody Keith Andrews in their line ups, when everyone knows Sam will pick him and ruin our day!! Agreed except I would start Pedersen instead of Emerton. Better distribution and more goals in him which is what we need. Hard to choose who is on the bench? Like to see Hoilett and Linganzi to get a few minutes in the game. Where does Morris play?

MarkBRFC71 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Agreed except I would start Pedersen instead of Emerton. Better distribution and more goals in him which is what we need. Emerton for me. Works much harder, isn't scared to tackle and can run with the ball far better. Plus with Pedersen in we'll have to put up with the bloody long-throw and his godawful corners!
Amo Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Emerton for me. Works much harder, isn't scared to tackle and can run with the ball far better. Plus with Pedersen in we'll have to put up with the bloody long-throw and his godawful corners! That was my thinking, but I think we both know Pedersen will start for the very reasons you stated.
mattyc2422 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 ROVERS: Robinson, Salgado, Samba ©, Nelsen, Givet, E. Diouf, Jones, Pedersen, Olsson, Dunn, Kalinic. Subs: Bunn, Chimbonda, Nzonzi, Andrews, Emerton, Hoilett, M. B. Diouf. EVERTON: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, Saha. Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Heitinga, Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov, Beckford, Gueye. N'zonzi not starting? Why?
Bobby G Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Phil Jones in defensive midfield according to the official site. Although he could so easily be the third center back as well. With Olsson and Salgado as wing-backs.
Messi422 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 ROVERS: Robinson, Salgado, Samba ©, Nelsen, Givet, E. Diouf, Jones, Pedersen, Olsson, Dunn, Kalinic. Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Heitinga, Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov, Beckford, Gueye. Is Nzonzi injured?
Robin Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Jones will play as a defensive midfielder instead of N´zonzi accordingly to the official rovers page.
bubblerrovers Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I really worry today, I think 2 nil Everton, Cahill and Saha
Dan Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 ROVERS: Robinson, Salgado, Samba ©, Nelsen, Givet, E. Diouf, Jones, Pedersen, Olsson, Dunn, Kalinic. Subs: Bunn, Chimbonda, Nzonzi, Andrews, Emerton, Hoilett, M. B. Diouf. EVERTON: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, Saha. Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Heitinga, Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov, Beckford, Gueye. Is Nzonzi injured? He's on the bench so I suspect he's not injured! Looks a pretty good line up. Everton have a lot of attacking talent and it'll be good to have Jones helping the defence/midfield.
patrickvalery Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 You have to say that a midfield of Diouf, Pedersen, Dunn and Olsson is pretty bold. Quite strange that Jones is chosen ahead of N'zonzi given he is out of position.
Tooogs Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I'm at ewood. What the (Please don't use that word again) is jones doin in midfield with peds? Prove me wrong sam
RoverRich Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I think Jones will probably be instructed to deal with Cahill who will drop in to link the midfield and striker and who we know is likely to pinch a goal. He should be able to guard the back 4 a bit better to deal with Everton coming forward and can always drop in to make it a back 5. I know it is defensive but if we keep Everton out then they can't win and Sam does not want to lose this game. Bold decision on the line up but hopefully it pays off.
Pinch Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 You have to say that a midfield of Diouf, Pedersen, Dunn and Olsson is pretty bold. Quite strange that Jones is chosen ahead of N'zonzi given he is out of position. At least Jones has also been chosen ahead of Andrews.
Bennisfromheaven Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Very interesting selection, not an out & out midfield player in the side but could just work!! Sam has surprised us before with this kind of thing!! Fingers crossed!!
BRFC1995 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 ...............................Nelsen......Samba.......Givet........ Salgado..............................................................Ollsen ........Diouf.............Jones...............Dunn............Pedersen .......................................Kalinic....................... 4 center halves? 1 central midfielder? ?????????????????????????????can see they're russian murdering salgado
Shabani Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 What a truly dreadful team/formation that Sam has picked What is he doing? We're starting the game with Nzonzi on the bench and 4 centre backs Absolute madness, is Sam trying to say soemthing to the board?
AspRover Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Surely its - Robinson Jones Samba Nelsen Givet Salgado Diouf Dunn Pedersen Olsson Kalinic Looks alright to me... Edit - altered to change Salgado/Jones around
Mr. E Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 heh, looks like I actually got it right that we'll be playing with all 3 of Samba, Nelsen and Jones. but yeah, the only thing mystifying is El-Hadji? Must be really impressive in training...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Salgado is in midfield according to TalkSPORT. Jones at RB. Edit: Salgado in holding role.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Salgado is in midfield according to TalkSPORT. Jones at RB. Edit: Salgado in holding role. What does Bert have to do to get in the side, especially at right back? He's our best right back imo.
