BPF Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Hello, My family own Able Skip Hire. They are currently trying to move to a bigger property to expand the business and hire a good number of local unemployed people. LCC are blocking them from doing this due to them having an unknown commercial motive (Which involves trying to buy the building Able want for a price hugely lower than it's value.) I wouldn't normally ask people to do this, but what they are doing is so wrong that I feel that people need to be made aware of this. Full Article Here. LCC are often saying how more jobs need to be created and how answers lie with local business. I'm tired of hearing stories about people being unemployed, I'm outraged that LCC do not want to help the situation. If you feel this is wrong, then please write to: E-Mail: steve.dean@lancashire.gov.uk Address: Mr Stephen Dean Lancashire County Developments Ltd PO Box 78 County Hall Preston PR1 8XJ Thank you in advance.

Ozz Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Seems a bit weird that. But then again I would expect nowt different from LCC-a history of cocking things up. But at least we now know where your User name comes from.

dazmaz Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 daft question but have you gone to your local authority? they may have a say so in the LCC. or even the NWDA as I know they have a huge say in what happens with development and the like.
BPF Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 Hello all, Cheers for the responses. Firstly my username is an odd one but it's origins lie away from the family business. The wife and I had just got back from America, sadly a picture frame that we had purchased had broken in the case. My wife placed it to one side. Meanwhile, I was sat signing up for BRFCS, I looked down at the frame and my horrible username was born. I have seen plenty in skips though. I've also seen two grands worth of chocolate in a skip. To the person who wanted a cheap skip. Able are the cheapest in the area so get on it (not literally on the skip though). I've asked my cousin to contact the NWDA. I just cannot believe them. They are purely protecting their future investment. All those people were looking forward to starting work again and because of their own council, they can't.
adopted scouser Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Bound to be one in there. That's Jim's house !

I regularly used to send £50k of chocolate in a skip for deep burial at Whinney Hill.
