philipl Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Having watched the opening game of the season when Watford won pretty easily at Norwich, the key to winning this one is energy and strength. Watford didn't let Norwich settle anywhere on the Park and the Canaries couldn't handle it. If we adopt a similar full tempo approach tonight, we should be able to build a demoralising lead and have a relatively straight forward passage through to the next round. So we need our stronger players and ones who will get into Norwich faces whenever they have possession then it will be a matter of exploiting their mistakes.

It has been blue sky and dry over here in Liverpool all day oh, and 4 -v- 0 tonight with 7,800 wet bunnies on.
RevidgeBlue Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I'd expect Diouf to be upfront tonight. Can we afford to risk injury to one of our two available strikers though? Our squad is so thin this tie is a disaster waiting to happen.

Grabbi Graeme Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Reading the Norwich City messageboard, their fans seem to think that they will bring about 4-500 fans, because it is a a long journey and they also are away at Forest on Saturday. According to the Canaries official site, manager Paul Lambert is expected to make changes for the game tonight to give some squad players a chance.

BuckyRover Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I would like to see a more or less full strength team. I want us to do well in this competition again.
Al Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 The pitch looked wonderful last Saturday. I hope they don't ruin it for the season by churning it up in the wet tonight.
BigJackWalker Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Hope diouf starts and we play 4-4-2 get a few goals be nice
rebelmswar Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Hope diouf starts and we play 4-4-2 get a few goals be nice Would like to see both Dioufs up front together and Niko on at half time.
joey_big_nose Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Time to give some of the fringe players a shot: Bunn Jacobsen - Samba - Jones - Givet Hoilett - Emerton - Nzonzi - Olsson Judge Kalinic Not bad but I would go:- ------------------------Bunn Jacobsen---Samba---Jones----Olsson --Doran----Linganzi----Nzonzi----Hoilett ------------------------Judge -----------------------M Diouf Maybe play Emerton ahead of Doran or Hoilett Bit gutted about this one as I would like to see how the youngsters do. No option to watch from Slovenia . Does anyone know where Morris plays? He was on the bench against Brum so must be in contention for tonight.

SamTheShrew Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I've already looked for an option on the internet - doesn't seem to be any carling cup games being shown. Any idea if the LET will be doing live game updates like they trialled in the summer?
chaddyrovers Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 My team would be:- Bunn Jacobsen Hanley Samba Givet Judge Linganzi Emerton Hoilett Kalinic M.Diouf Subs:- Robinson, Nelsen, Olsson, E.Diouf, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Doran. 3-1 win. kalinic, m.diouf and samba to score

cn174 Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I'm pretty sure Lee will be doing a matchblog on rovers.co.uk
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Hoping that BBC Norfolk will stream radio coverage of the game online (probably won't knowing my luck). Its on their schedule though... http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/programmes/schedules
Ventura Rover Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 RibbleValley. Yep ... it is on Radio Norfolk. The pre match chat is coming across loud and clear in California.
