The Neville Brothers have several properties- including a floor each of the Deansgate Hilton in Manchester.

It's a pretty decent investment (perhaps not as much now) as even though football players do get paid handsomely- they're going to notice a massive dip in revenue once they cease playing-hence why they probably get involved in some entrepeneurial activity i.e property sooner rather than later.
