Sandiway Blue Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Should never have been let go in my opinion...
Doaksie Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Welcome back Tony. A seventh stint in the hot seat at some stage??!?
Mc Love Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 A great servant to the club in the past - signing of the summer
broadsword Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 You can't keep the bloke away. I can't imagine there's anyone with a bad word to say about the man. One of life's good guys.
bonerdude Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Mr blackburn rovers back what can i say im thrilled to bits best news ive heard all summer
deryck guyler's spoon Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 A true Rover back where he belongs.
jim mk2 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Tony signed a few duds when he was manager - Per Pedersen ? Saw him make his Rovers debut as a young fresh-faced lad. God I feel old.
tony gale's mic Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Tony signed a few duds when he was manager - Per Pedersen ? Saw him make his Rovers debut as a young fresh-faced lad. God I feel old. Come on Jim, I'm twenty four and I remember that!
Tango Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 After his stint as manager back in 1996 - 1997 he can do no wrong in my eyes. Yes he signed Per Pedersen, but his team selections and the form we showed under his stewardship were enough to convince me that he knows a player when he sees one. Welcome back Tony!
Stuart Ripley Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 it's so special when you have people in the game whose hearts are at Ewood, it makes me feel extremely proud and lucky. Tony is a Rover, Tony is a Rover! We got our Tony back, we got our Tony back!
j166429 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Come on Jim, I'm twenty four and I remember that! I think he was meaning Tony Parkes' debut. Not Per Pedersen's!
daveoftherovers Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Welcome Home Tony... "He's Blue & White he's ******* dynamite, Tony Parkes"
Grez Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I am glad Tony is back... as you say, a true Rover. For the amount we have paid flops in the past 5 years, I am sure we could easily have acccomodated Tony's salary; especially for his loyalty and service to the club. I see him more of a UK scout rather than anything foreign. As for previous signings... wasn't Tony in charge when I saw a gangly 17 year old John Carew play at Ewood in the blue and white halves? I saw him score a hatrick before going off with cramp after 70 mins. The following week, I remember Tony saying that we would not be signing him as he was an unknown and not sure how he would work out. Lets hope the scouting success is better this time round...
ada2020 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Welcome back Tony. Forcing Tony out was pretty much the only thing Hughes did in his tenure that I truly disliked, glad to see the club have moved to bring him back home.
1864roverite Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Tony Parkes - a TRUE Rovers Legend. I dont think anything TP ever did at Ewood could be held against him, least of all the signing of P Pedersen. If anything, I recall the two penalty misses in the same game at Ewood in the 70's as his biggest cock up !! Cant exactly recall the opponents but for some reaso Blackpool spring to mind !!
beerwins Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Well if he is the only signing we make in the window I wont be dissapointed Welcome home Tony
chaddyrovers Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 welcome back home Tony! Should have never been sacked imo.
Amo Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 After his stint as manager back in 1996 - 1997 he can do no wrong in my eyes. Hang on, didn't Parkes come very close to selling Jansen?
