Greedy_Crawford Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Great to hear he is back. Best caretaker manager in the world IMO. Also a top bloke. Old enough to remember his last game for us when he broke his leg....
MickeFIN Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Tony Parke`s blue white army, bang bang Tony parke`s blue white army bang bang. great news, welcome back tony parkes
Blueandwhitemike Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I'd also like to say it is great to have a true Rovers legend back, Tony Parkes blue and white army
cletus Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Great to hear Tony Parkes is back where he belongs.....Ewood Park In this age of football mercinaries, there`s very few people like Tony who actually LOVE their club, & i reckon there`ll be even less people like Tony in the future. We should cherrish the return of a true Roverite!
MarkBRFC71 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Welcome back Tony. A seventh stint in the hot seat at some stage??!? Probably next week when Allardyce goes to Villa .....
adopted scouser Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Tony Parkes at Ewood, loads of cash to spend soon, have we been in the DeLorean ? Better dust off me Rick Astley Cd and get a mullet
T4E Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Come on Jim, I'm twenty four and I remember that! I really hope you meant that. I +1'd just in case.
RoyRover Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Rovers through and through. A complete legend. Welcome back.
92er Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Tony signed a few duds when he was manager - Per Pedersen ? Saw him make his Rovers debut as a young fresh-faced lad. God I feel old. Harsh about Pedersen-I'm pretty sure he got permission from Hodgson. Didn't Pedersen's goal at Chelsea help keep us up?
OhmiBRFC Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Glad he's back. Was once the face of the club. Didn't deserve the trestment he got last time. Shows the strength of the man to come back.
steverovers Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Glad to see the old legend back - he should never have left in the first place. Good luck Tony, you probably won't need it!!
JonnyH Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 The best thing we ever did was get rid of Tony Parkes! For no other reason than his testimonial allowed me to see Alan Shearer once again scoring a goal in a Rovers shirt at the Blackburn End. Welcome back Tony. True legend.
bazza Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 The best thing we ever did was get rid of Tony Parkes! For no other reason than his testimonial allowed me to see Alan Shearer once again scoring a goal in a Rovers shirt at the Blackburn End. Welcome back Tony. True legend. Wasn't it Tony's testimonial when Tugay put on a wonderful dispay of tricks; pretending to catch the ball and later pretending to pick it up? Glad to hear Parksie is back where he belongs.
Doaksie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Tony's job description may be changing a little in the near future: from - "Tony, do you think Benjani's knee will fall apart any time soon?" to - "Tony, pick a player, any player?" Enjoy the challenge Tony.
A cup of beans Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Should never have been let go in my opinion... im big fan of parkes, but there may have been other factors, bacup. THIS IS ALL ALLEGEDLEY.... tony parkes nearly sold damien duff, david dunn and matt jansen in his last spell as manager! also heards he made a few sarcastic comments about souness leaving, which allegedley prompted mark hughes to replace him! im pleased he's back, cos he's a true legend and gave debuts to many a rovers starlet! also did an amazing job in keeping rovers in the prem after ray harford left. heard him on radio lancs tribute to jack walker and he was moved to tears at 1 point! very moving! welcome back, tony!
Amo Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I know Tony is part of the furniture and all, but I question appointing a scout who wanted to sell our best three players of the last decade.
Majiball Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I know Tony is part of the furniture and all, but I question appointing a scout who wanted to sell our best three players of the last decade. Who did he want to sell????
Amo Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Who did he want to sell???? We know he came close to selling Jansen, and the post above mine includes Dunn & Duff too.
Majiball Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 We know he came close to selling Jansen, and the post above mine includes Dunn & Duff too. Ah well I never thought any of them were much cop anyway.
roverwhelmed Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 A bit late to this news but really glad he's back I have fond memories of waiting for autographs and him asking for my hat! Good old Tony!
