The real problem is how we approached the game once we took the lead.

Yep, the usual 'sit back and defend' approach - it's never worked away from home so why the fook do we keep trying it? Jeez ....

The most disappointing thing is after coming into the game not expecting anything we should have won this, their keeper makes some great saves, we hit the post then concede 2 crap goals.

We get whatever we deserve. Our defending has been slack.

it'd be interesting to see if there's a less deserved win all season in the Premiership. We really could have won this, and somehow Brum walk away with all 3 points.

Miss chances lose matches simple as that really.

I think we played good but we had a few lapses in defence and Brum punished us, plenty of positives can be took from the game but not any points.

Such is life, Everton will point at the stats and possession last week and think they deserved more Last week we got a lucky goal (albeit well taken) goal, this week we have headers off the post and an inspired keeper against us.

We should have done better but when we sit back we look weak.

The Emirates looks a scary place to visit next though

New season, same away form. Allardyce will rightly say that we didn't deserve to lose. However you can't afford to miss pens and chances like the one Kalanic missed. Last season we said he was unlucky with the amount of times he hit the woodwork but he should have absolutely buried that one.

As per last season we don't take our chances, then poor defending/goalkeeping allows the opposition to score 2 undeserved goals. Good performance but it counts for nothing.

That was a seriously awful defeat.

3 points were there for the taking yet we let Brum score 2 out of nothing.

Terrible decision to let MGP take the penalty. Yes it was a great save but MGP had signalled where it was going a step before he struck it.

When we were pressing at the end, the lack of class and guile was very evident.

That said we were totally on top and in control for 75 out of the 90 minutes. Bonkers to come away from an empty St Andrews with nothing.

A very good performance even if we lost. Two shoddy pieces of defending. THe second goals seemed to come from a loss of shape after the Jones substitution. We should have won that.

Oh, well a lot positives to take away. And few points about how we defend the long ball. Still optimistic.

Least deserved 3 points in the history of the PL.

We need to start taking advantage of possession/terratory in away games.

Kalinic unlucky again hitting the post.

Birmingham were awful.

we did ok and didnt really deserve to lose. we dont keep the ball well enough up front thats our main problem. we normally defend well until as someone said when we score and sit back away from home

not a big fan of emerton and didnt feel any excitment when he came on. for me he doesnt really do anything.
