Guest Kamy100 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 The Emirates looks a scary place to visit next though You'll be alone at the Emirates! It is Arsenal at Ewood.

MarkBRFC71 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Oh well. The p**s poor away form continues. We miss chances (none easier than a pen ffs!), and always try - and fail - to sit back and defend when we go a goal up. Tactically inept away from home.
Majiball Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 How did we lose that? ROBBOED! Fixed it for you.
Messi422 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 We always lose like that, possession, hitting the post or crossbar, score first but lose at the end.
Backroom Tom Posted August 21, 2010 Backroom Posted August 21, 2010 Don't worry. It's at Ewood. Ah thats a bit better, lets give em a real game then. Hopefully a new face or two in by then - Benjani hattrick

I dont think we sat back and defended the one goal at all, both Brums goals were counter attacks and both were well took. Its just a shame we were'nt that incisive.
John Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Our general finishing really is s**t - some good chances missed in that game - really has annoyed me
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Poor result, talk about throwing away points. Was a repeat of last season's away gameplan. Keep it tight, hopefully get a goal and then sit back and hold on. There will be those that say we deserved a point, maybe but watching that one could argue we deserved everything we got today- nothing. If you defend like we did/lack of closing down pretty much every team will punish you in this league. We had some decent possession in the first half but there was a real lack of creativity in midfield. Take away Dunny and you can't be confident at all that the rest will provide enough quality to get results. Man of the match for me was probably Niko. Thought he worked hard, looked a real threat when supported and if Samba wasn't behind him might not have hit the post with the header. Often he had to chase lost causes but thats going to be what happens in this side, hopefully he doesn't get to downhearted about that. Pretty sure i read he was a penalty specialist in Croatia, i would have had him take the penalty to try and give him another confidence boost. Carling Cup next and i'm not sure i would rest a load of players, not after that result. Play the best side possible (at least from the start) and try and get them to learn from today's mistakes.
1864roverite Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Thatloss is hard to take - the game shoulkd not have been lost by Rovers. Now then where is that bloody cat ? The dreaded 2-1 scoreline carries on
Guest brianpepper Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Fixed it for you. pretty tedious agenda
Metaler Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 That was ugly, long ball after long ball, If Sam cant get the team playing some sort of football, rather than just hitting it in the box, then he wont be spending to much of the £80-£100 million he MIGHT be getting. With Sam's tactics a 2M player or a 20M player would do the same job, hit it in the box and try to score

We played very effectively I thought, just didn't finish and let in two soft goals. The approach play was fine by me.
broadsword Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 pretty tedious agenda It's pretty tedious that he still has basic flaws in his game.
Majiball Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 pretty tedious agenda Care to expand on that statement???
Tooogs Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I'm sat in a ###### queue outside this ###### ground surrounded by ######. We didn't deserve (Please don't use that word again) all and we have no ######. No skill no class. Somebody fixing support Niko up there Sorry that was meant to say ######

One positive without Dunn we've no creative midfield I don't really agree with this. We played very effectively I thought, just didn't finish and let in two soft goals. The approach play was fine by me. Maybe, but I still think we approached the half way line and hit it into the box
Tooogs Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 okay so I'm in the slowest moving traffic jam of all time with two taxi drivers actually stood outside their cars chatting. People beeping their horns. Getting abused by the worst fans in the country. I am sick of our long ball tactic. Yeah I know it is to be expected but I will always support the lads. Sick of the lifeless midfield play and lack of guile anywhere near the opposition goal x
Martin Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Frustrating. Two mistakes. One by Robbo and one by Salgado have cost us the game. Otherwise a very solid performance. Our delivery into the box was excellent and we created numerous opportunities. Keep up that solidarity in performance and we'll have a good season. Good performances from Kalinic and Diouf.
Guest brianpepper Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Care to expand on that statement??? singling out one players mistake suggesting that is what cost us, not kalanic hitting the post? salgados mistake? peds pen miss? its a boring tedious attitude
Amo Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Same old, same old. Both goals were the result of slack defending, with a hand from Robinson - or not, as the case may be. It's remarkable how solid and disciplined we are at home, but on our travels we're an entirely different animal. On the plus side, Diouf's looking sharper, and Kalinic looks stronger - although he's in for a frustrating season unless we find some quality from midfield. There's no one who can control the tempo of the game and spot a through-ball.
ABBEY Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I am sick of our long ball tactic. Yeah I know it is to be expected but I will always support the lads. Sick of the lifeless midfield play and lack of guile anywhere near the opposition goal x but according to people on here its good football and only samwearenotworthy is capapable of producing this great football. i watched on a german station and i wont be going to anymore away games with the messia in charge. it was two rubbish sides and pitiful to watch.
John Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 On the plus side, Diouf's looking sharper, and Kalinic looks stronger - although he's in for a frustrating season unless we find some quality from midfield. There's no one who can control the tempo of the game and spot a through-ball. Was thinking the same - could do with adding some real quality in midfield if we are to maintain/progress on last season. Thing is, we cannot rely on Dunn for creativity, his track record shows he always breaks down at some point. For our youngsters (midfield players), need to be careful not to expect too much too soon.
