I agree, Nicko was the one person who actually knew what he was talking about. His sceptisism regarding the takeover was totally merited. I enjoyed reading what was going on behind the scenes far more so then the arrogant rants about how the club should be run and which players should be bought, by people who actually knew next to nothing.

Can't see us buying anyone until Jan because of takeover activity. Will be interesting who we bring in on loan as I think some "decent" players will become available next week...Jenas, NRC, Yobo etc

Off thread it may be, but I for one feel it needs to be said. Nico seems to have become the victim of a witch hunt by some members in my opinion – for what was no more than his attempt to offer a voice of reason in what was essentially turning into a mass feeding frenzy on hype and speculation because someone mentioned £300 mil.

Don’t want a Christmas, Birthday or Easter card off the man and if he never posts on here again will not keep me awake at night. But I will say this, like all Journalists (win some, loose some) if he had a sniff of an 11 o’clocker the list of people logged on this site was three times what it is at this precise moment. I rest my case.

On thread – If Roberts is being shipped out it needs to be permanently.

Nicko reports gossip, not gospel truth. He picks up rumours based on very early stage reports. It's strange, up until I joined this messageboard I used to refer to this stuff as 'Paper talk'.

Our resident journalists and agency helpers (and team lurker) add a dimension to this board that makes it better, not that it wasn't great before. I fail to see why some people feel their day is not complete without having a snipe at nicko. You don't even see good flame wars between other members on this section anymore - it seems to always end up in an anti-nicko rant. Good god, get a grip people. Now, transfer stuff.

Where did the Popov failing his medical rumour come from? A reliable source, or a homeless guy outside the Post Office bar? Just curious, I know he has somewhat of a reputation as a party boy but he's wildly popular in Bulgaria and has a bit about him. Would not mind him here at all.

But we would have to fund Benajni's wage and then we would be stuck with the pair of them.

If we cant sell Roberts then keep him, at his age we will have to run his contract out but at least we will have somebody with prem experience, sending him out on loan if we have to fund some of his wages isnt a viable option, especially if we have to fund another old timer to take his place.
