As said earlier I'm sure this next week will be one of nickos busiest of the year so he probably has more pressing things than sharing everything on here this week.

Just a sidenote, but I heard on Norwegian radio earlier in the week that Blackburn won't be buying Erik Huseklepp. Instead they were buying Popov who had impressed massively in training. I took it with a pinch of salt but wonder who their source is, if MGP leaks stuff like that to the Norwegian press perhaps...or is it just a 'save face' manoeuvre?

I thought someone said Edixon Perea had arrived earlier in the week but guess PPlunk knows better.

I think he has gone away because we were all too happy. It must have been strange to deal with us all in this period of collective euphoria.

It's getting to the point where we Benjani would become a welcome addition to our squad purely because we need a striker and time is running out. :lol:

Personally I think Roberts has been treated poorly considering the lack of strikers coming into Blackburn to push him down the pecking order.

If we've still got him when the transfer window shuts and Roberts doesn't get a squad number then I think we'll regret it.

Let's hope Big Sam has got some tricks up his sleeve and pulls off a couple of signings before it's too late.

I agree with the highlighted part, and as I have said before on other posts, I don't think it would be any kind of disaster if JR stays, but only as a sub coming off the bench. That is a role that seems to suit him the best, and he can be a match winner in that role. Let's face it........ we are not going to get a decent fee for him (even if we find a taker), so we might as well use him in the best role for ourselves.

i didnt feel offended by it all, so did not have a go at either 47er or Rover of Finland. I was a bit surprised by both 47er and ROF, as they are regular members, and would have assumed they knew what was happening. To be fair to both of them, this thread and few others, have spiralled way out of control. Who would want to read 300 pages of nonsense? I have never had a problem with Nicko, so i always enjoy what he has to say. He is human after all, so please guys lets all treat each other with a bit of respect.

Back on topic, i would love to see Popov here, and then maybe i would be okay with Benjani as 4th choice. He would be the experience player dare i say it, when you consider how young the other 3 would be.

Interesting one given they have also just signed Edgar Davids- great opportunity for the young lad to learn from one of the masters of the modern game.

Also a real make or break opportunity to follow through on his great early season for by playing just one level below the Premier League.

Nicko reports gossip, not gospel truth. He picks up rumours based on very early stage reports. It's strange, up until I joined this messageboard I used to refer to this stuff as 'Paper talk'.

Nicko is very good at his job but people on here start debating anything he has said like it has just happened.

Millions of people buy papers for the same reason too.

Fife.... It's been perfectly clear for almost a decade now that if a manager wants to put a new player onto the wage bill then he has to get an old one off it first.

I really enjoy nickos updates but he's definitely been off the boil a bit this summer.

There's been very little happening except at City and to a much lesser extent Stoke. Every club's in the same boat. I haven't reckoned it up but there seem more loans to report than transfers and loans are as interesting as alcohol free beer.

Just an observation on the Nicko thing.

At the risk of sounding like a Nickoteen( which i'm not),I do question the motives of someone like Ewood and I Would.The desire seems to be to question/undermine/demean almost everything Nicko posts.Of course,this is a messageboard and all opinions should be welcomed but I switched off from him/her quite a while ago as the ongoing Nicko-baiting got extremely tedious.Ironically,they now seem to have vanished,maybe they have absolutely nothing of substance to say if it isn't smothered in 'Nicko-negativity'.

I know whose posts I preferred to read.....

Secondly Nicko is an adult, i'm sure he can take his comments being questioned. Its funny how you're allowed to question and criticize anyone on here including all brfc players,bfs,jw and syed..but not Nicko lol

Lastly hes a journalist for a daily national newspaper, they make their lives on writing damning pieces on individuals which results in those individuals having hugely negative impacts in their lives. So saying my comments to him are unfair and shouldnt be made i a huge cliche dont you think?

On a more important note i have heard that we like popov and want to buy him, but need a player out 1st. Hence why we sent him back and why he thought he's been bought..we will be buyin him but only if we can get a few out first.

Also I'd rather not know who the mystery striker is..digging around and finding out will get it into the papers and alert other clubs, which will only help in scuppering our chances.

If you walk into a room and start mouthing off, don't expect to be well received regardless of your rights.

And the mystery striker we have bid for (per the LET) is...........no one we have heard of.........

We will end up with Benjani, lets get over it now.....not the end of the world if Kalinic and Diouf start putting them away

Personally like JR who is a top bloke and wish him all the best, think he could have been treated better. Shame he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo

mystery striker will be Popov, well im guessing thats why we havent signed him yet. Either him, or perhaps we have made an improved bid for Klose
