chocky Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Even the Real Madrid rumour for Adebayor isn't listed in this scan of all press-reported rumours! An absolute cracker Brownie- cheered up a slow Sunday in late August. Havn't Inter Milan offered £20,000,000 for him...?..

koi Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 just a quick question, i've been away for a week, and after reading a few pages, no sign of nicko. whats happened, has he stopped posting? Pick his ball up and gone off to www.bwfcs.co.uk
Fife Rover Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 so why say he is doing nothing to earn his money fife? In the words of Donna Summer, he works hard for the money! It would be far simpler if you just looked back 2 or 3 pages to my original post, in which I was arguing that rather than have him completely out of the squad and therefore not ABLE to earn his money, it would be in everyone's interest to have him on the bench and able to do what he is good at. I.E. come on as a sub and give the opposition something else to worry about and in doing so he would be earning his pay which he is not doing if he has no squad number. Are you beginning to get the picture now?
1864roverite Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I find it incredulous that there is very very little transfer news involving Rovers in the mornings media today. Even the SP doesnt give us a mention !
Torgeir Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I find it incredulous that there is very very little transfer news involving Rovers in the mornings media today. Even the SP doesnt give us a mention ! Maybe we need Nicko after all
alexanders Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 It has to mean one thing. We are getting close on our target!
PAFELL Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Pick his ball up and gone off to www.bwfcs.co.uk Pity if that is the case, but the way some on here have treated him at times, understandable.
chilly Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 i think we desperately need two midfielders before a striker..kalinic looks good but if you watch our games the poor guy hardly gets a decent chance. 9 outta 10 times he'll have two defenders in front of him when he gets the ball. We need midfielders who can pass to each other, split the defence and send kalinic through. Also our team is tooo slow, we lack pace. Peders, diouf, emerton and Salgado are much too slow and none of them can pass the ball properly.Thats why we cant counter and get caught on counters, much too slow. Nzonzi is our only player that Ive seen who can pass more than a few feet away and still be accurate.
John Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is resigned to relying on the same limited striking options for the rest of the year. "We're trying but I wouldn't say we're close to anything at the moment," said Allardyce. "There are a number of frontmen that are available; we've got to find out whether we consider them to be good enough to come into this league and produce the goals that we need.
nicko Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Had a couple of days off on domestic duties...and for a thought or two. If you argue too long with an idiot you turn into one yourself. And who has gone 'off the boil' in this window? Keep count and my kills score has just reached 66...as opposed to 1. Just to clear a couple up. Greening was contacted on Thursday by a Rovers 'source' and asked if he fancied a loan move. He does. Fulham won't let him go until they sign someone else for his role. They would like Eidur Gudjohnsen but cannot agree to the deal. Reo-Coker was contacted three weeks ago. How else would his camp know about it and someone round here have heard the same? What's in it for him to be linked to Rovers? Get real. Anyway, the LET are after their latest phantom striker or pregnancy, so good luck with that. I won't be commenting on takeovers. Ta all the same.
MarkBRFC71 Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Isn't Greening just a worse version of Pedersen? Jeez ....
alexanders Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I dont think Popov played for Litex Lovech tonight. I wonder if he is the striker we have made a bid for.
MikeB Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Isn't Greening just a worse version of Pedersen? Jeez .... Not a great Greening fan, however, we are short on numbers there with ever absent Grella, half a season Dunny and the mystery Irishman (Keef) - where the hell was he yesterday, not even on bench. One striker I understand Rovers are keeping tabs on is Akpala who plays for Club Brugge in Belgium - don't know much about the guy other than he's a big Nigerian in the 'Sam mould'.

chaddyrovers Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Nicko, are rovers any closer to signing a striker? jo or caicedo?
RoverRich Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 One striker I understand Rovers are keeping tabs on is Akpala who plays for Club Brugge in Belgium - don't know much about the guy other than he's a big Nigerian in the 'Sam mould'. Wikipedia tells me that he is a "big Nigerian" with a fairly decent scoring record but it is in the Belgian league so take from that what you will. He was top scorer in that league when he was just 21 and playing for Charleroi so must have some potential. Also the right age to be looking at as he is 24 on tuesday. As for Popov, I hope there is a good reason for him not playing, like signing for Rovers this week. I want him to be the next striker we get in, don't know why, just have a good feeling about him.
nicko Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Nicko, are rovers any closer to signing a striker? jo or caicedo? I know there were a couple of new names bouncing around at the weekend, but even one of them has probably hit the skids. I won't be going into details as it will only add to the tale of woe. Jo is still available and as nobody has bought him that could always be an option - in some shape or size. Caicedo was due to join West Ham until a mysterious problem. His agent is telling people he has another Premier League club. However his agent was doing the Dindane deal, so I would suspect Rovers won't be beating a path to his door. You need to get rid of Jason Roberts to free up some cash...and that won't be happening at the ridiculous cost of it.* *Wait for that to be denied by the apologists.

For most people on this forum, i check daily to see your posts and find out what is going on behind the scenes and woudl love to continue to do that on both transfers and the club take over ! keep up the good work Nicko !
Amo Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Damn it, Nicko. At least when you're gone we can PRETEND something's happening.
Ricky Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 Nicko, one of the west ham fans who frequents the board believed that the caicedo deal fell through as they are getting ferrera on loan from Chelsea so they had used their domestic loans as ben haim is also on loan. No idea if it's true or not. But we really should be all over the caicedo deal.

After saturday's result, I surprised Rovers don't try for the brum player who scored two against rovers.

Why would Chelsea let them have Ferreira? Very odd.
