PAFELL Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Good to see we've really moved on from the Trust. I would rather the trust owned the club again. At least we had stability. They may have with held funds for quite awhile. But there was no danger of going bust as a club.

RevidgeBlue Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Well, it finally looks as though Benjani will not be rejoining us and I see Jason Brown has also left. A bit of good news for a change, two bits of deadwood off ther scene. Now when are we going to sign some bloody players?

Based on what Kean has said in the last 48 hours, what has brought you to this conclusion?
RevidgeBlue Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Based on what Kean has said in the last 48 hours, what has brought you to this conclusion? I was going off the comment from a few days ago on the news section of this site and have only just read Kean's comments in today's LT about offering Benjani improved terms. Words fail me if that's the case and it's certainly not indicative of players of any genuine quality being brought in.
Amo Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Of course we've moved on - just not in the right direction I see the irony was lost on you, Gums.

keaney23 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I think Benjani is more of a threat then Jason Roberts , does that mean hes worth a new contract? Absolutely no chance!
Stuart Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 It seems that we've not been able/willing to offer Benji a deal that he felt was worth his while and he thinks he can get a better deal in the Championship. (My interpretation of what I've read, rather than inside info). I have to wonder though, is it him or Venkys that are deluding themselves? Whilst I'd still sooner they add Benji's offer to whatever is on the table for Junior to sign, we are beginning to look alarmingly short of goalscoring options!
John Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Kean said himself that Benjani is a good option from the bench and I think as back up he is ok. However aside from his questionable ability he has problems keeping fit.

That doesn't mean of course, that he should be playing. You can be technically excellent, while at the same time be rubbish.

Parsonblue Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 If Benjani does, indeed, sign a new contract for the Rovers it tells us all we need to know about our ambitious owners. Kean talks about the biggest transfer budget in the club's history, talks about Champions League in three or four years and then adds Anderson to the squad - a player who is certainly no better and, from what I have seen of him last pre-season and this, seems inferior to the likes of Gaving Gunning and Matty Pearson - and then offers improved terms to Benjani. Villa are paying around £9 million for N'Zogbia and we are struggling to find the money to pay the wages for free transfers.
JAL Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 If Benjani resigns then its yet, another terribly, terribly disappointing movefor Blackburn Rovers football club and its fans.
