gumboots Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 4-0 win for Rovers, Kalinic, Banjoni, Diouf M and MGP with the goals. Love the optimism but can't help worrying that this will be a banana skin. It's my first match this season as we were away on holiday when the season started and I desperately want to see a win. The 2 matches I went to in France were losses and I'm due a win, so I'll have my fingers toes and everything else crossed.

Clitherover Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 The Cottagers has to be the most unfortunate club nickname to date...
frosty Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Hope Jones is at back with Samba for this one and Nzonzi where he should be, Dembele is a handfull and I expect him to score at leat one so I hope we have Kalinic and Diouf on to give us some firepower. 1-1 or 2-1 Rovers still undecided. I hope Jones is in midfield alongside Nzonzi, and Grella where HE should be..........nowhere near the 1st team!

Miker Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Really? he's a good player when he's fit. I have defended Grella strongly in the past, but after his last performance he should be nowhere near the first team, one of the worst performances I've seen from any player. Absolutely horrid. 2-0 win for us.

cesus Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 No you can't judge a player on one game, but he looked like a rugby player trying to play football! Just tried barging everybody out the way then just whacked the ball anywhere when he had it.

Miker Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Can't really judge an entire players career on one bad performance though. Well I haven't - he should be out of the first team for last week's performance though, I don't think you can really argue with that. N'zonzi deserves to start ahead of him. Even Andrews would...
ben_the_beast Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Grella looked like a rugby player? I take it you don't watch rugby Grella is a liability. To immobile and does not track runners breaking through from the opposition midfield as shown against city and arsenal. It really is very basic stuff which he fails to do which is shocking considering this is meant to be his specialised position. I really do not understand all the "he is a good player when fit" stuff people come out with. The only time he is effective is against lesser opposition who don't have the players capable of breaking from the midfield.
philipl Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Hang on, Grella was rubbish at City but he was amazing against Arsenal the previous game.
Bobby G Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Looking forward to this. Home game but against a side that is excellent on the break and is built to frustrate in away games.
rebelmswar Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 So is everyone going to keep their eyes peeled for Mr. Ali today? Wonder if he is even in country.
Bobby G Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Same line-up. No Olsson or Dunn though with Junior and Amine on bench. I would have rather seen a fit Olsson next to Givet on the left side, but since the former isnt fit at least Nelsen is ready for this game. Excited about the 2 players up front and this is a big test for us to see where we will finish this season in terms of being able to score against the teams up and around us in mid-table.
ben_the_beast Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Hang on, Grella was rubbish at City but he was amazing against Arsenal the previous game. I disagree. He was at fault for Walcotts goal. Just watched as Walcott was played through when the whole world could see that was where the pass was going to be played. He reminds me of an old man playing football. Who can no longer keep up with the pace of the game so therefore just barges his way around in an attempt to seem imposing. In reality he is limited. Very limited
Bobby G Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 On a side-note, if we win today its our 1,000th top flight win. How many other clubs can claim that?
Mr. E Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Still disappointed there's no Dunn. And he seems to be playing for the reserves...is he not coming back this time?
philipl Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 On a side-note, if we win today its our 1,000th top flight win. How many other clubs can claim that? Everton, Liverpool, Man U, Villa, Arsenal, Spurs probably Chelsea, Sunderland and Newcastle.
Nelsta Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 wonder if duff will kiss the fulham badge today.
Bobby G Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 He will. He already kissed the Chelsea badge when he scored against us a few years ago.
budha Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Everton, Liverpool, Man U, Villa, Arsenal, Spurs probably Chelsea, Sunderland and Newcastle. http://www.toffeeweb.com/history/records/alltime.asp#tab1 If that table, from May 2007, is correct, also Man City and WBA. I wonder if Bolton has won 35 games since?
MarkBRFC71 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Very dull first 25 mins. Darwen End more interested in throwing a beach ball round than the game! Needs a goal ... desperately.
