BuckyRover Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 What do TGM and JohnD think of today's events? I am only interested in their opinion
rebelmswar Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 What do TGM and JohnD think of today's events? I am only interested in their opinion I can say that one of them is waiting for a response on Facebook before commenting on today's events. Whatever the other one says I am sure will be well thought out, but in complete disagreement with the majority.
DanLad Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 So basically Due Dilligence is a bit like Schrödinger's cat? You have a closed box in which due diligence is allegedly occurring. As you can't see it happening, is the takeover dead on not? As an aside, I've seen it written on here that due diligence is costing £250K. Are the accoutants milking this, or what?
JohnD Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Me? The Rovers need investment and I trust the current owners to choose the right buyer. I don't worry at all who the winner might be, it really is as simple as that. But you lot won't want to believe that so cue the silly comments, spin, imagination, fantasy and bo****ks............

Whatever the other one says I am sure will be well thought out, but in complete disagreement with the majority. I am interested in their thoughts on the mystery bidders. Is it possible to disparage a person or group when you have no idea who the hell they are ? How will they know if they have a wiki page or unpaid parking tickets from 20 years ago ?
rebelmswar Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I am interested in their thoughts on the mystery bidders. So am I. I thoroughly enjoy discussing matters with TGMC. Is it possible to disparage a person or group when you have no idea who the hell they are ? Yes How will they know if they have a wiki page or unpaid parking tickets from 20 years ago ? I dunno really. Those things have never really worried me personally. Wiki is a dangerous tool, I am sure that I read on there that Rovers fans sleep with their mums, I wouldnt use that as truth nor proof that it doesn't happen either. If someone doesn't want to be on Wiki they simply delete it.

Is it possible to disparage a person or group when you have no idea who the hell they are ? How will they know if they have a wiki page or unpaid parking tickets from 20 years ago ? Oh bless another one living out the BRFCS fantasy My only agenda is that one of the prospective buyers has been challenged by a guy with a radio program and so far his response has been pitiful. He may feel it his beneath him to clear his good name and that is fine by me. If the board select him then that's fine also but I would prefer someone who appears to be honest and defends his good name and supposed integrity. The allegations are reasonably easy to disprove and an apology, retraction or damages could be gained. I just don't understand why Mr Ali wouldn't want to pursue this line. You see if this little matter isn't cleared up and he does complete the takeover he begins to besmirch the Rovers good name as well as his own.

JohnD Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Oh hello the lap dog has turned up, woof, woof.
1864roverite Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Maybe JohnD Mr Ali doesnt want to air his dirty laundry in public, have you considered that ? By failing to respond PUBLICLY to goldberg and his pitiful effort at investigation immediately doenst make him dishonest, it doesnt make him any lesser than the biggest braggart. What can clearly be seen by his methodical approach is that his ambition for a deal is proper, he is funded, he appears to be what it says on the tin and it would also appear that Rovers and any other interested party have a real interst in what he has to offer OTHERWISE it would be NO DEAL. I personally think that (like others) some supporters are failing to grass the reality of the position Rovers find themselves in, the implications for the clubs future and the wonderful opportunities that just might present themself SHOULD we see a successful takeover. Rovers current success is based on scrimp and save, bargain hunting and selling the clubs gold to equalise or clear bills. The addition of some funding will see the club on a much better footing, give the already in place solid foundations even more strength and stabilisation and also allow the onfield activities to benfit with better or more established players. The unsettling speculation on here is gobsmacking. There are actually people who find themselves in a position where they learn some of the facts of what is going on yet we still see members belittling them becuase they either dont know anything themselves or they dont want to accept what is going on OR they just havent got a clue. I say to those hankering with bitchiness, bitterness and anger to relax and stay with it. Thise shouting fromt he roof tops should stay silent for a while and watch and read what is being written because you might just be able to read between the lines. Finally, its our club it is happening to. It really is happening folks, get over it and accept the fact that currently Rovers are a club that is WANTED, is an attractive purchase and clearly provides an opportunity for business. Lets roll with it.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 You have a closed box in which due diligence is allegedly occurring. As you can't see it happening, is the takeover dead on not? As an aside, I've seen it written on here that due diligence is costing £250K. Are the accoutants milking this, or what? Well it seems to be working if interested parties are willing to pay it. I am just wondering why there is a fee to be paid? Is this to sort out the real interested parties to those who aren't? I do know that League 1 Southampton were charging parties 500k so half of that for a Premier League club isn't too bad in my opinion. Portsmouth's second skint Arab didn't even go through the due diligence process according to several reports down here. Mental.
JohnD Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Maybe JohnD Mr Ali doesnt want to air his dirty laundry in public, have you considered that ? I have indeed and have stated so in writing on this very board.

roversmum Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Where has Madge gone in the mystery Australians....? I'd love to see Dame Edna down at Ewood. She could do the half-time draw. It's a good job Beamo doesn't do it any more, she'd give him a run for his money...
