anything in the sunday papers about the takeover? was Mr Ali there todat watching the game or people from his group?

Nothing from me...no visit by Syed [still]...no-one saying who the second bidders are...

And if someone wants to give me a fiver for every time I hear the line about 'we are sorting out the cowboys from the Indians' I will buy it myself.

Oh well. You would have thought that Mr Ali would be there to watch us if he still is interest in buying rovers? wonder who the second biiders are? Have they been to watch a game yet?

Also why haven't rovers release a statement about Mr Ali been given more time to look at the club's accounts?

Do you have a wiki page? What are your motives? How much money will you give us? Do you accept you will get nothing back? Any outstanding library books/paring tickets? Who is your favourite Rovers player? If you were to rent a property what is your policy on handing it back in a tidy state? Will you rebuild the riverside?

I think you would be either brilliant or rubbish.

(Just saving us fifty or so pages of dicussion on this Mr Nixon!)

I was speaking to someone last night about the takeover and he said "All Ali Syed or anyone else who wants to take over have to do is pay 25m for the debt" at which point I was nodding along in agreement "and 125m to the Trustees." at which point my jaw dropped open. This person didn't seem to think 150m was that unreasonable.

I don't know if there is any truth at all in this although this person does know the sort of people who should know these things. The figure does make theoretical sense as it would recoup Jack's total investment but in reality it seems optimistic at best and a darned liberty at worst (if true of course.)

Does anyone know enough to say with any confidence whether there's something in this or whether it can safely be dismissed?

I've been hearing about a debt, but have been having a hard time believing it. How can we be in debt when all we do is sell sell sell and barely buy anyone? And as high as our wages are for a club our size, I doubt that it has been allowed to reach a level where we would be 25 million in debt.

As for the price of the club...I'm pretty sure it's under 30 million. No way would it be 150 range.

£125m is roughly the face value of Rovers' capital after all the loans the Walker Trust had advanced were converted into shares (there is another £50m plus which went straight in and not reflected in share capital I believe). I think the person talking to Revidge has been looking at that number in the accounts.

Two numbers have been bandied around a lot in the last year or so as the Trust's selling price.

Nicko was totally convinced the selling price was £25m and the rest of the media has picked that number up as well. But then nicko also kept saying the selling price was the stumbling block for Dan Williams when the reality was he had been screened out- yes the Rothschilds kept talking just as they are still talking to at least three organisations now who will be unsuccessful (there are certainly four runners and riders still in the field and three have gone much further than Dan Williams ever did).

Paul Plunkett has twice tweeted to the effect that the offer by Ali Syed is £60m for a completely debt free club. ie whatever the debts of the club are, the Trust has to clear itself and receives the balance. This would be more consistent with the £40m to £45m that was said to be the sale price when Dan Williams was about and reflect the underlying physical assets value (excluding players) which is in the club.

The reality is this is a private matter between the Trust Rothschild and buyers unless they decide to make it public.

Far far more important to the fans is what amount of money goes into the Rovers, how it is made (shares or loan) and over what period it will be made. And I believe the Trust/Rothschlds are negotiating very hard on the numbers and terms for Rovers in order to be able to sell fulfilling Jack's wishes (which is where Dan Williams was utterly inadequate). The deal for the money going into the Rovers will most certainly be subject to public disclosure.

I'm going to break my own rules and post about none-transfer news in here. Kammy has asked me to pass on this message http://www.brfcs.co....age-from-kammy/ (comment in that thread, not this one).

Anyone who feels big enough to bully and harrass from behind a computer screen is nothing but a coward and I hope justice is serve as I assume they are traceable...

Good luck Kamy. I have little interest posting on a forum that attacks you.

C'mon mate - lets not miss the point here. The goal of anyone attacking Kamy was to stifle discussion on this messageboard, and specifically this thread. If people start bowing out over it then you're allowing their agenda to be fulfilled.

F**k that.

The forum didn't attack Kamy. The majority in the forum have been supportive of Kamy. Malicious, petty trolls attacked Kamy, hopefully few in number. And I hope they get well and truly burned for it.

Actually I suspect the people sending abusive PMs have joined the messageboard for this sole purpose. I can't imagine it reflects on the regular membership in any way.

I can fairly well believe Revidge blue story that the trustees are in fact after a darn sight more than £25m especially with all the supposed interest being shown. .

I have to stress I have no idea whether there's any truth at all in this alleged 125m + 25m figure, but if true it would certainly go a long way to explaining why there's been no apparent movement in selling us over the last 3 years.

As regards the Ali Syed interest, is it not somewhat odd that he apparently hasn't submitted his ownership application to the Premier League yet?

I'm still hoping that Anil Ambani or one of the Tata family is the "Mysterious Indians". I have to confess that overtime I've become a bit concerned about Syed. I don't know if that is my paranoia finally catching up to me, concern that he believes there is a profit to be made with the Rovers (even long term I think it far fetched), Goldberg infiltrating my subconcious, or something completely different.

You don't go into due dilligence without knowing the price of the club, that's why the the williams and others never got to that stage because they couldn't agree the purchase price...........
