With Syed it seems to be a case of more questions being asked of him and where his money is coming from...

As for Shah, the fact remains that the club is up for grabs and if he can put in a serious rival offer then he could get it.

Not holding my breath on either of them seeing this through to a takeover.

Nicko, why are you not holding your breath? do you think Syed has the money? Also do you think this takeover business could be conclude by January?

I personally hope so tbh

To all the people who have said they are in the know, do you think there will be a conclusion to this takeover soon (whether sold or not)...or will this continue to drag for quite a while yet?

How long before Syed's exclusivity extention expires? Was there ever an exact date released to the media or is this strictly between Rovers and him?

Takeover never going to happen.

Syed just realised it's a football club and not Rubber Dinghy Rapids.

Hughesy in tears clutching empty bottle of scotch, smashing up his scale model of 'Walker World'

If no takeover occurs a lot of people have spent an awful amount of time and money getting nowhere. I'm hanging on to the hope that they have more sense than that.

They've only just found this out?

Not got a clue Bryan, my friend was down at the Flybe headquarters this past week though when this video conference was taking place and he's sure it was Syed that they were referring to with the doubt about how much money he's actually got.

Still, Philip seems pretty certain he's got the clout..

Phil guaranteed us Rovers wouldn't appoint Ince, told us Boro would get in the Champions League, and stated Rovers were one of the only teams in the world who could sign Xavi Alonso.

The deal's dead.

No it's not. We have no proof Syed has the money.

We, as in a bunch of internet messageboard losers, have no proof of anything, and why would we?

The Trust and Rothchilds, however, ought to have that proof by now; if they don't, then their process is useless. Either way, I very much doubt they are texting Philipl on an hourly basis passing on all their info.

Look at his accounts, he has also made at least two 300 million deals, few clicks on google will reveal that, he has or someone in his family had invested at least 1 billion in wga, issue is it really his family or someone else?

This may or may not be the right place to put this...

However I gather that the management are working on two targets for the squad. Both midfield and both significantly on free transfers.

So it doesn;t sound like they are expecting any windfalls soon.

Quite revealing.

maybe so, but depends who the free transfers are. both could be just coming to the end of their contract. i guess big sam has to carry on has normal with the current budget. no point targeting players who are not within the current budget.

i guess we will know within the next month about the Mr Syed Ali takeover will happen
