Wonder what the record is for the most penalties in a day of fixtures in the premier league? There has been loads of them today.

The records for most goals and most pens scored have been broke today

There were 7 penalties today, which according to Opta's twitter is a new PL record.

I think there were 8, actually, but 7 goals.

Newcastle had 2, ManCity had 2, we had 1, Wigan had 1 and Spurs had 2, but missed one..

They were really poor. Hardly created anything the second half. Poor selection and tactically naive? :P

Was that Bolton's third stoppage time heartbreak this season?

Not sure as they seem to have won loads late on....like sturridge against Wolves. And very late on against us.

Got to laugh at Arsenal, spineless and have been for years. Today showed exactly why their current team, for all their flair and pretty football, will never be champions. No backbone.

Utd's defeat against Wolves was coming, too. They've been terrible away from home for the entire season, can't believe they've made it this far without losing to be honest.

Gomes with a howler today... back to his usual form, then. Shame he decided to have a blinder Wednesday -_-

Blackpool seem finally to be on the slide.

When Holloway deliberately fielded a weakened side in the 3rd round of the FA Cup away at Southampton and they got stuffed 2-0 I wondered if that might be a momentum buster.

Doesn't look like it helped.

If west brom really want to stop being a yo yo club this time around, then surely they have to go after Allardyce. However, it seems whilst west brom want to stay in the prem, they have some sort of affinity to managers who play 'possesion' football.

as a neutral that was painful to watch....both of those teams have some serious deadwood issues horrible advert for the premier league
