roverwhelmed Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Why is it though that when Rooney appeals a ban it is simply turned away but Rovers are threatened with an additional 1 game suspesion for N'Zonzi should we appeal unsuccessfully? I wondered this myself! The law of the sod I reckon, although there's probably a technicality I'm unaware of!

Backroom DE. Posted April 7, 2011 Backroom Posted April 7, 2011 Why is it though that when Rooney appeals a ban it is simply turned away but Rovers are threatened with an additional 1 game suspesion for N'Zonzi should we appeal unsuccessfully? Purely playing devil's advocate, but Rooney's ban was fairly unprecedented. Has there been a case of a footballer swearing at a camera before and incurring a suspension? The appeal wasn't considered frivolous because it was a case that hadn't really been dealt with before and Rooney had a right to present his side of it before a final decision was handed out. N'Zonzi's challenge, on the other hand, is fairly regular and plenty of players have been given their marching orders this season for similar tackles. An appeal would be fairly pointless and probably why it would incur a further one game ban.
thenodrog Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 He does make good points. Take the out the "I'm the best" bit and he's pretty much spot on with his assessment. The dinosaurs on here won't like this bit. It disrupts their football outlook and and knowledge which seems to have it's origins in the exploits of a certain Roy Race..... "We're too focused on tradition in England, like always having to play 4-4-2. Sometimes you need to experiment, drop a bit deeper so you have more space to move into. "France, Italy and Germany have done it. We've been doing the same thing for 20 years."
Commondore Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 He does make good points. Take the out the "I'm the best" bit and he's pretty much spot on with his assessment. Poor little Joey. Maybe he actually could get into the England team if he wasn't such a neanderthal? His rap sheet goes way beyond unlucky circumstances, and saying things like this in interviews won't help his chances either.
John Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 LeBron James will have a chance to win titles with more than the Miami Heat. After agreeing to terms with Fenway Sports Management (FSM) to become a minority owner of Liverpool FC

"France, Italy and Germany have done it. We've been doing the same thing for 20 years." You're right, of course, Gorden. Joey Barton knows how to organise England so that they win the next World Cup. It seems so obvious now. When will the damn FA realise this?
ben_the_beast Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 On a football pitch Joey Barton would offer more than Garath Barry. Of that I'm sure.
JAL Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 don`t you just want to smack him! Scumbag Barton opens his gob again! Get him down here Bacup blue and dont be such an arse
deryck guyler's spoon Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Pat Nevin and Perry Groves were asked to compile a top 10 of English central midfielders on 5live. Neither included Barton. I would include him in mine, above Barry and the promising but unproven Rodwell who both featured in the Nevin and Groves list.

Billy Castell Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 What is up with Joleon Lescott's hairline? Did he have a bad head injury, or is it just odd?
gumboots Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 What is up with Joleon Lescott's hairline? Did he have a bad head injury, or is it just odd? Lescott was born on 16 August 1982,[1] and grew up in Birmingham where he attended the Four Dwellings High School in Quinton, — the area in which his mother still lives. Lescott grew up supporting Aston Villa.[2] Aged 5, Lescott was hit by a car outside his primary school and dragged down the road. He suffered severe head injuries, the scars of which are still visible today, especially across the forehead and hairline.

Baz Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 0 - 3 HT Wolves defence is all over the place. I dont think I've seen a defence so bad at dealing with crosses for a long time.
