Backroom Tom Posted April 9, 2011 Author Backroom Posted April 9, 2011 0 - 3 HT Wolves defence is all over the place. I dont think I've seen a defence so bad at dealing with crosses for a long time. Gives us hope for the last day of the season if we need something, pepper the box whenever possible and there will be chances had. Wolves run in looks very kind though Sat 23 15:00 H Fulham PREM Tue 26 19:45 A Stoke City PREM May Sun 1 12:00 A Birmingham PREM Sun 8 12:00 H WBA PREM Sat 14 12:45 A Sunderland PREM Sun 22 16:00 H Blackburn PREM

Majiball Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Does anyone know much about the pompey saga? I'm curious to know if the guys who bought them during their demise made money out of it? And if they did does someone know how?

I wouldn't expect them to win any of those matches except for the last one against us. Their home matches are against a well-drilled Fulham side under Hughes, a resurgent WBA under Hodgson and us... who may or may not turn up to fight. They've got it fairly tough away too... can't see them taking anything from Stoke, Birmingham are decent at St Andrews, and Sunderland will probably be coming out of their slump by May 14th.
Hughesy Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 2-0 Arsenal after 20 mins...that GD could get hit today hopefully!!
ben_the_beast Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Blackpool are being ripped to shreds. They could literally be 5-0 down by now
jim mk2 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Villa 2pts over us at present, Rovers down to 15th. Let's face it, any team with the talent of Young, Bent, Downing etc isn't going to get relegated - even with Houllier in charge.
Backroom Tom Posted April 10, 2011 Author Backroom Posted April 10, 2011 Not too worried about villa as I see them being safe, at least Blackpool lost!
Backroom DE. Posted April 10, 2011 Backroom Posted April 10, 2011 Villa won't be relegated. The results we need to watch out for are Wolves, Wigan, Blackpool and West Ham. We won't finish above anybody else.
Kamy100 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 As Jim says a team with the talent that Villa have isn't going to get relegated, regardless of who the manager. Some key games next weekend, Blackpool v Wigan and West Ham v Villa. I ideally we need Blackpool v Wigan to be a draw or possibly Blackpool win and Villa to beat West Ham. They way I see at the moment is that 39 points should be enough with our goal difference.
DP Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 What a quality finish from Bent.. onside or offside.... He doesn't do too much but his movement and finishing are exceptional.
Hughesy Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Anyone who believes Villa will go down are daft, they have a couple of players who could play for better teams. Blackpool was the key clash today and they got beat 3-1 at home, to the same team we drew 0-0 away with last week

Villa Home Newcastle - Stoke - Wigan - L/Pool Away West Ham - West Brom - Arsenal By no means bankers.
DP Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Great to see Lehman back, even if it is only a cameo role for a few games. A true 'screw lose goalie' (and there's plenty of em, especially German) and who knows, may just be the inspiration Arsenal need.
imy9 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Kroenke about to take complete control of Arsenal. May finally allow Wenger to splash the cash.
Bobby G Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Wenger has had cash to splash and chose not to. I think there is more to it than that. Dont forget they have debts. Wenger could have been protecting the club's image by saying we have money but not spending it.
Hughesy Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I think Wenger must be on some sort of bonus if he can stay @ Arsenal until they become debt free….he has clearly had his hands tied in the past and not signed key players when really needed. If they can continue their current model until debt free then it is a massive money making machine. Be interesting to see what Kronke has planned if anything – he owns 4 US teams in different sports too.
Rovermatt Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Kroenke about to take complete control of Arsenal. May finally allow Wenger to splash the cash. Wenger's lack of financial outlay has been of his own choosing.
RoverMad86 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Wenger had the full backing of the board not to spend money (ha), of which Kroenke is on, so I would think their business plan will continue untill Ashburton Grove is all paid off.
