SouthAussieRover Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has warned his young players to curb their drinking habits in order to prolong their careers, with the Italian advising them that "it is better they go with a woman than a drink". I think this Mancini fella knows his stuff!

Bobby G Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 With only 18 months on his contract left in January, I dont know how much they could expect for him.
thenodrog Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 West Ham very unlucky to have that last minute goal ruled out, how the clueless Clattenberg can give that from where he is is beyond me. I'll say again that Picquionne looks quality. I trust Clattenberg will have the good sense to not report that yellow. Arsenal's pen? He went down a bit easily but there was contact and I think most refs would give it. Wilshire? Harsh. He kept his foot low and given the human ankle is not a universal joint it's impossible not to show studs when tackling head on. A yellow would have sufficed. No doubt an ear piercing girly scream and some histrionics from Zigic sealed the deal. Wilshire's previous touch had been bad causing him to try to recover the situation and it is a fact that a show of aggression does intimidate many players into jumping or backing out.
Amo Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I wonder if MOTD would have been so forgiving if Wilshere was a 6foot clomper playing for Stoke? I doubt it.
thenodrog Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I wonder if MOTD would have been so forgiving if Wilshere was a 6foot clomper playing for Stoke Blackburn? I doubt it. Corrected for you Topman.
John Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Manchester United have dismissed claims they will sell star striker Wayne Rooney during the January transfer window as "nonsense".
Amo Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Something has to give when Fergie clashes with one of his own. However, can United afford to sell Rooney?
Backroom Tom Posted October 17, 2010 Author Backroom Posted October 17, 2010 Gerrard should have been booked then, Webb is trying to let it go but what then warrants a booking? Liverpool really are just a bad team with a couple of really good players
BuckyRover Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Can they afford not to sell him? It will help with the interest payments. I believe the Glazers see them as a team that buys promising players (Bebe, Hernandez etc. ) and aims to sell them to the big boys. I don't see them as title challengers with so much debt. I don't think the Glazers would care either. (Prepares to eat hat)
Backroom Tom Posted October 17, 2010 Author Backroom Posted October 17, 2010 Blackpool playing some good attacking football again. Hope they stay up, just not at the expense of us.
brian_gallagher85 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Manchester United have dismissed claims they will sell star striker Wayne Rooney during the January transfer window as "nonsense". As well they should....he hasn't been a "star" striker for almost a year! Blackpool are getting in City's faces and playing some very decent football, we could learn a thing or two from this game.
Brfcrule1 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Thought this was the best thread to put this in What is it with all these ex Arsenal players check the link http://www.tribalfootball.com/ex-arsenal-striker-eduardo-blackburn-wolves-do-not-try-play-football-1185241 I think he has obviously got massively confused just because an ex blackburn Rovers player broke his leg he has tarred our whole side with the same brush also unless I am missing the point did Eduardo ever play against Wolves or maybe he has just heard what Murphy has said and jumped on that bandwagon. Maybe someone should show the Croatian the prem. Lge fair play table and see we have only had 1 red card in the last year.
tony gale's mic Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Blackpool are getting in City's faces and playing some very decent football, we could learn a thing or two from this game. ...yeah, that will most likely in the end cost you points, whereas our recent record against the big teams has been pretty good.
Backroom Tom Posted October 17, 2010 Author Backroom Posted October 17, 2010 It's a naff stereotype but also kind of understandable. Fact is most neutral fans would rather have shut of the likes of us and Wolves for the likes of Blackpool and West Brom.
LDRover Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 500K and you could buy Charlie Adam or you could buy Keith Andrews. God I hate Paul Ince.
brian_gallagher85 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 ...yeah, that will most likely in the end cost you points, whereas our recent record against the big teams has been pretty good. With reffing like that the current Spain side would lose. Blackpool were robbed blind today!
BuckyRover Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Rooney has refused to sign a new contract at Utd.
DanLad Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Rooney has refused to sign a new contract at Utd. Has he just scrawled a rough X like normal?
BuckyRover Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Stan Collymore is saying on twitter that Rooney wants to go to City for 500k pw. It wouldn't surprise me
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Stan Collymore is saying on twitter that Rooney wants to go to City for 500k pw. It wouldn't surprise me Wouldn't surprise me either. No sympathy for the guy at all. He was moaning a couple of weeks ago to SSN about the press putting pressure on him, making himself out as some kind of victim. I wonder Wayne was it the press that forced you to put your di** in a prostitute? Fergie has the balls to drop him because he is playing crap and then he kicks up a fuss about not playing. I’ve watched his recent performances and Fergie has made the right decision. United should just flog him to a Spanish or Italian club, the guy is a self centred prat and they should get rid.
philipl Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Apparently City have been warned they will fail the UEFA Fairness rule if they sign Rooney.
Bobby G Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I think its logical. I doubt United would sell him to City either right now. Sell him for less but elsewhere will be the message otherwise its suicide for the hierarchy. I cant see him being around much longer. Body language is wrong. In his head he thinks he has been done wrong, but everyone knows that Ferguson has done everything he should have done and in fact has been supporting him to take him from under the spotlight. But Rooney is proving why this generation of English footballers will never reach their potential nor will they ever be role models for anyone growing up. I used to confidently say he is world class but the longer his drought goes and performances or lack of more so the more I will think was he simply a striker playing in a golden run of form, rather than ability. How long does it take before good or bad form is taken as ability?
Ozz Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Blackpool are getting in City's faces and playing some very decent football, we could learn a thing or two from this game. What like we did at City when we didn't lose?
DanLad Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I used to confidently say he is world class but the longer his drought goes and performances or lack of more so the more I will think was he simply a striker playing in a golden run of form, rather than ability. How long does it take before good or bad form is taken as ability? A few seasons ago John Coleman was asked to comment upon the form of one of his centre halves, Robbie Williams. His response went something along the lines that a good player doesn't become a bad player overnight, it took Robbie about 6 months.
