brian_gallagher85 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 What like we did at City when we didn't lose? Exactly, it was one of only two times this season that we actually took a team on, the other being the first half at home to Arsenal. I think that even the most ardent City fan couldn't deny that Blackpool deserved something from yesterdays game. The standard of reffing in that game from all involved was pathetic!

Backroom DE. Posted October 18, 2010 Backroom Posted October 18, 2010 There's no way Rooney will go to City for an obscene wage like 500k p/w, is just Collymore showing his ignorance as usual. City need to bring down their wage bill in order to comply with UEFA's incoming laws, not increase it by a stupidly substancial amount. IF they get in Rooney he may come in at around 300k p/w, but IF that happened they'd have to offload at least two of their big earners in order to compensate for it. If Rooney's form hasn't improved by January will it really be worth it for City to potentially unsettle what appears to be a slowly strengthening squad in favour of nicking an off-form Rooney from Utd for a ridiculous fee & wages? I don't think Rooney will be sold in Jan, think Utd will wait until summer and if the situation is still not resolved flog him before he can go for nothing. With clubs knowing what a weak position Utd are in, they won't get the type of fee Rooney would normally command. £50M max IMO.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 BBC now reporting that shrek will not sign a new deal: Wayne Rooney 'will not sign new Manchester United deal'
Amo Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I used to confidently say he is world class but the longer his drought goes and performances or lack of more so the more I will think was he simply a striker playing in a golden run of form, rather than ability. How long does it take before good or bad form is taken as ability? 'World class' is a worthless term unless the player has proven himself on the world stage. No wonder England are vastly overrated at every tournament.
Hughesy Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 BBC now reporting that shrek will not sign a new deal: Wayne Rooney 'will not sign new Manchester United deal' Oh dear, how sad, never mind. Rumours City will offer him £300k A WEEK!!
RIML Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 At Liverpool's John Lennon Airport, under the sign 'Above us only sky', someone has written 'Below us only West Ham'
alexanders Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 At Liverpool's John Lennon Airport, under the sign 'Above us only sky', someone has written 'Below us only West Ham'
RIML Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010  I googled 'Liverpool Airport' to check the arrivals/departures because my boyfriend is flying over from Ireland for the game tonight and all the twitter feeds are showing up on google.
RIML Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 No but I've told my boyfriend to take a photo of it. EDIT: It says on this Daily Mail article at the bottom of the page At Liverpool airport, the statue of John Lennon has the inscription ‘Above us only sky.’ Someone has written next to it: ‘Below us only West Ham.’
John Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Is this the same player we were continously linked with in the past? Meanwhile, Bruce confirmed over the weekend that he will make Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady’s loan move to Wearside permanent in January.

speeeeeeedie Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Newcastle's Andy Carroll was arrested again over the weekend; Bailed to live at Nolan's house. No idea what happened, but the lad needs to start thinking.
budha Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Claims self defense against (apparently) her. Must've been a close match..
67splitscreen Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Claims self defense against (apparently) her. Must've been a close match.. I'm afraid to say, I would offer no defence at all to her physically abusing my body.
BuckyRover Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Rijkaard has unexpectedly quit Galatasaray. Apparently he could be heading for Anfield....
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Rijkaard has unexpectedly quit Galatasaray. Apparently he could be heading for Anfield.... Pretty overrated manager, from what i gather the real brains when he was manager at Barca was Henk Ten Cate. They went downhill when he left.
BuckyRover Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 It has also been said that Ten Cate was at Ewood also. Interesting
LeChuck Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 from what i gather the real brains when he was manager at Barca was Henk Ten Cate I dunno about that, he's completely bombed in Greece and Dubai.
Roberto Policano Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Rijkaard has unexpectedly quit Galatasaray. He was sacked after a board meeting.
BuckyRover Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I was just relaying gossip from twitter. It's not entirely trustworthy
Commondore Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I dunno about that, he's completely bombed in Greece and Dubai. I don't know about Dubai, but being sacked from Panathinaikos is hardly a personal disaster. They have had 14 managers the last 10 years! Rijkaard has unexpectedly quit Galatasaray. Apparently he could be heading for Anfield.... ...and Tugay is being named (mostly be fans it seems, but still) as a possible replacement!
Helmshore blue Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Just had a text from a mate who said his Dad has seen the transcript for the Man Utd press conference this afternoon, and it should be announcing that Rooney will be leaving before next season. Apologies if this has already been posted.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 2.15pm: Sky aren't showing the Sir Alex Ferguson press conference live. However he will not play tomorrow night because, according to Ferguson, he "has an ankle injury". 2.22pm Bloody hell. Alex Ferguson on Rooney: "The player is adamant. He says he wants to leave. We have to deal the next part in terms of this request." 2.24pm Ferguson also confirms that Rooney has been offered a lucrative new contract, saying: "There's an offer...I know [David] Gill is prepared to offer a contract that's difficult to better elsewhere." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/oct/19/sir-alex-ferguson-press-conference
philipl Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I do so hope Man U fans learn what it is like to be poor relations which bigger teams can push around and pinch their best players...
